Easy to build, looks good but lacks quality for the price
I really enjoyed building this, I bought this one to go on one side of my Harry Potter books. the instructions were clear and easy to follow, everything was clearly marked and labelled. The lighting was easy to wire up, but the little stickers given to tape the wires down are absolutely useless, I used double sided gorilla tape cut into small strips instead. Some of the pieces popped out easily, but a lot of them splintered so the printed sides often had small chips of paint missing, which ruined how some parts looked in the end. I had to be extremely careful with the smaller components as the wood is very brittle and quite a few pieces broke no matter how gently I was popping them out. I managed to glue most of them together but it's a shame really. I think these kits are very expensive for what they are, so to have such poor quality parts is absolutely shocking. It does look good when it's completed and lit up, but it would look even better if the wood & paint work was a tiny bit better quality as the small chips really ruin the overall look. It's overpriced for the quality of it (I'd say it's worth Β£30 max) and this is why I've given 3 stars. Other than that, the base idea of it is great, the scene is cute, and it does look lovely when it's lit up. I spent about 6 or 7 hours in total really taking my time assembling it. I find these kits really soothing because the cutting and sticking brings out my inner child. It's very relaxing to put one together, especially when the instructions are as clear as these ones.

Great fun
Got this for my teenager and she loves it. Itβs a great distraction from screen time. It appears to be easy to assemble but takes time. This is her second one

Some things are good, some things not so much
Its a real shame that this kit is let down by several elements, it had a lot of potential. It's a nice overall design and has a lot of details so I was excited to put it together, but over the time of the build I found the flaws. For the most part the printing is really nice, but quite a few pieces were out of alignment with the cuts which ruined the look. I have done a few other wooden models and have never had so much trouble getting the items out of the sheet. However carefully I did it, there were a high percentage of splinters and those the impacted the front would peel up parts of the print. To minimise this I was pushing from the back but it did still occur, I would use a coloured pen to fill in these areas so it wasn't so obvious. The next problem was the instructions. Its full colour mainly picture, which is good until you start to notice that an item might appear in a slightly different location from one picture to the next, not so bad where there are outlines on the boards for placement, but following a picture might lead you to place something that might be in the way later on in the build. On following the instructions for the walkway, I completed it just as it says, only to find that it then did not fit into the notches on the board when assembling. Had to rip it apart so regretted using good glue! Also there were tabbed items that fitted into sockets on the shelves parts that stuck out at the back - these shelving units needed to be flush on the board so it was a real pain. The instructions where written had questionable wording, for example "Line the lights5from the cabinet The right side of child 6 is reserved Holethrough." Don't want to be pedantic but that's not very clear! Having said all this, I really hope the company can make a few alterations as the item could be really nice, and at that point it would be more worth the price than it is now.

Poor quality of wood for the price
If the wood on this product was less flimsy and thicker on the delicate pieces then it would be value for money. Pretty disappointed with this make as I thought it would be alot like the library books nook book which was less flimsy more value for money and I think at the time was cheaper then this one, unless its more valued because of the harry potter theme.
