James Elroy Flecker's comic play is an inspiration and verses have been quoted in other peoples books and films.Sadly Flecker died, of tuberculosis, at the age of 30 in 1915.Hassan stands head and shoulders above many of the contemporary works of that period.Flecker's other published works are also a joy to read and I urge othersto explore his works.His sad death robbed the world of an immence talent.
