Brilliant rotating AND tilting parasol!
**Update: 2 years on and this parasol is still in perfect working order. It's been left out, uncovered year round.**In summary, this is a great looking, well constructed garden parasol at a fraction of the cost of other comparable models. A delight to use & super flexible re. shade coverage.I'm chuffed to bits with this. I specifically wanted a parasol that can rotate and tilt & initially thought I'd have to spend a fortune (at least 2.5 times this price). Then I came across this bargain one. I was not convinced but thought it worth getting it to see and I am delighted I did. The description isn't very clear on the tilt but I can confirm that the extra handle under the canopy in front of the crank handle does enable the parasol too tilt about 45o either side. The vertical tilt is also excellent so this is perfect for providing shade all around without moving the base.We have to navigate our tree canopy when rotating between sofa & table so the flexibility was a must & it has not disappointed.I was apprehensive about the quality after reading recent reviews of missing parts in the box & poor assembly instructions but I had no issues. When it arrived (a day early!) the box looked like it had been opened and resealed so I took photos in case there was an issue but all was fine inside. The instructions were very basic but it has a parts list & 3 diagrams which are easy to follow. One small error on the parts list - it lists 6 of the M10x20 bolts but only 4 are supplied and only 4 needed (plus a 5th which is already screwed into the pole). Otherwise the instructions are fine and no tools are needed for assembly other than the included allen key.[Updated] I was initially concerned that the crank handle would come out during use but this has never happened.

Great parasol for the (rare) hot summer days. Base needs careful selection.
I bought this parasol with a Costway 4 piece base and a Dukon Parasol Cover.Construction was fairly straight forward. The base bolts together easily and securely. The only problem I had was that the Costway base is slightly too big for the stand. It needed an extra two washers to raise the circular bit (with the pedal) so that all the pieces of the base could be connected together (see pictures). End result is still secure, so not a major problem, but could be annoying if you didn't have extra washers.Be aware that the parasol is very tall when constructed. There is no way I could get the cover on without using a stick. Fortunately the Dukon covers comes with a telescopic pole and so it is no bother.Finished parasol is brilliant. We live on top of a hill and it gets windy, which may cause a problem on days which are both sunny and windy, but we will see how it goes. The parasol seems robust so I am not overly concerned. Will report back after a year.Would have been nice if the parasol came with a base, or recommmded which bases to use so there was a proper fit.

A quality item
Had a little problem with a late delivery which was eventually sorted. I will add the supply company very helpful and kept in touch more than the delivery company.I read reviews re paying a bit extra for a quality item and I’m glad I did. This parasol is quality and well worth the extra. It was easy to assemble but possibly needs a little help because of the weight. Does need the stabilising weights to hold it in place. I would recommend this purchase to anyone.

Careful when there’s wind
Had this parasol for a year, but every time when there’s a bit of wind , I have to close it down, due to the parasol sound like it’s going to break, yesterday when I wasn’t there in time, the whole arm part of the parasol had broken away, the plastic parts that connected the whole thing together had snapped off, the parts wasn’t strong enough, did ask to see if I can gets the parts to repair it , but was informed that it’s only warranty for six months, there’s nothing they can do , the parasol wasn’t cheap to replace, I won’t be buying that again, very disappointed

Great very sturdy parasol
Really happy with this parasol. We had a similar sized one from another seller previously which was not very robust and eventually blew over and broke. This one, however, is very sturdy and well made. Nice colour too. Really happy - thank you!

Not how I expected it to be
I like the design for this umbrella is very stylish, the colour is nice, the pole is made of solid aluminium, which makes it easy to rotate 360 *. Solid 8 rib design supports for polyester cloth canopy. But what I don"t like about this umbrella is that the polyester cloth is very thin and the opening system for the umbrella. You can see in the picture that the umbrella is weak I have to help it open by hand to keep the umbrella open and to fit in the place, to stay open (This why I give 3 stars ).

Nothing not to love
Good size, well built. We bolted ours to the floor as it feels like it could take off

Value for money
I have sadly bought a few side post parasols in my time.My previous parasol was a Bramblecrest Chichester 3m side post parasol bought in 2014 for £296.99. This was broken by the wind when it was accidentally left up. To get the same today, June 2016, I'd need to pay £500. No way I was going to do that, so I searched online and I found this one. For under £200 I am delighted with it. It is not as sturdy as the Bramble crest one I previously owned. The size of some the aluminium box sections are smaller. However the mechanism is almost identical and I think it will be sturdy enough. The big price saving more than compensates for slightly smaller diameter aluminium. Also the Bramblecrest failed on the plastic hinge, not the aluminium. If this one breaks it will be the same place, i.e. the plastic connectors which are very similar. The main message to anyone is that these things do not like the wind in the UK. None are going to be robust enough for windy days. Only put it up on calm days and you'll be fine with this one.
