Fits tightly - no data loss, mechanical or electronic
Genius idea to expand storage - I have this in MS Surface Book 1 for additional storage with SanDisk Ultra microSD. Works perfectly, always available, file transfer is exactly the same as regular SD card. Flush to the base of the Surface Book. Extensible storage at sensible prices as microSD cards increase in capacity and reduce in price per Gb.Used for approx 6mths with no problems. Extracted to replace with a full size SD card every now and again - it does require some finger nail but nothing unusual, certainly provides confidence that it will not fall out.If you have a Surface then get this to expand the storage at a reasonable price - if you are about to buy a Surface don't fork out for larger internal drive.

Quality storage upgrade
Used in Surface Book 2 and currently holds a 128GB Micro SDHC card. Ideal for its intended use. A full-size SDHC card (or a normal convertor for mirco SDHC) sticks out the side, and I like to have an SD card permanently installed whether at the desk or travelling. This is an ideal, good-looking, solution to the problem. Its slightly overpriced, but I've not marked it down because of this. Why? Because even though it costs a lot it is value-for-money. It is made of metal, looks like an original part of the computer, and allows me greater versatility of storage at a far lower cost then buying a Surface Book with more internal storage.

Fits perfect
Fits perfectly in my Surface Book, and totally flush with the body. Fast transfer speeds too.. I've seen 90MB/sec. I've used them for video editing from, and it works great.Knocked off a star, because I feel they are expensive and should be cheaper.

Great idea, and makes storage safe and hidden
Fits seamlessly into the surface books memory card slot. In fact I often forget the extra disk space is from that add-on as it is well hidden. Brilliant idea, valuable and effective. The unit can be removed with little problem with a small pin, but is safe from accidental removal.

Excellent for SB2
Excellent for SB2. Fit and forget. Mine has a 200GB micro SD,and works perfectly. And yes, One Drive folder is stored on this. If you bite your nails, it might be difficult to remove, but a guitar pick will do the job. Qi have made a really nice piece of kit here. Too expensive? So is a Surface book. But if you want one, just pay the money, and enjoy a bit of quality!

Read this before you buy. You won't regret it.
If you are looking for a cheap and seamless storage expansion for a lower tier Surface Book this is a great solution. Micro SD cards are significantly cheaper when compared to the more expensive versions of the Surface Book, which is a treat for your wallet but not so much for the usability of the device. Everything in the world has its downsides and this is no exception, as the speed and reliability of even the best SD card is inferior than that of any SSD, let alone one of the best ones which Microsoft had installed on their premium devices. If you haven't yet bought a Surface Book (or any similar laptops in general) and you see this as a way to save some money, then it is the best that you buy at least the 256GB option and then add this as an extra drive for any data that does not require a fast drive such as a local copy of your OneDrive files, and even so you still need the fastest Micro SD card you can get. For this I would highly recommend a Samsung PRO Plus 128GB Micro SD card or SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB Micro SD card. But all of these performance is only available in 128GB options, and if you want 256GB the only good option is the Samsung EVO Plus 256GB Micro SD card which is a lot faster than the SanDisk counterpart. If you want to go above and beyond with storage and not care all that much about performance, the biggest but also slowest elephant in the room will be the SanDisk Ultra 400GB Micro SD card, the only one of its kind on the market yet, but a faster version of it will come soon. There is an Integral 512GB Micro SD card available now which is the largest in the world so far, but at this point you’re good to go with a higher capacity laptop out-of-the-box.

Waste of money
While on the face of this it appears to be a well designed and attractive solution, in practive it does not hold the Micro SD card securely and even small movements in the laptop will result in the card disconnecting and reconnecting, which makes this a totally useless product.

Perfect for Surface Book
Perfect for the Surface Book. Solves the problem of protruding SD card. Well made and easy to fit in and extract. Would not even consider any other after using this one. Well worth the money.
