An amazing little pocket rocket
Initial reaction was that it was much smaller than I imagined, but as soon as I switched on the unit sprang into action by scanning for available stations.. Quality wise this unit is a beautifully designed compact gem of a radio. It isn't flimsy it's a solid piece of kit - and truly portable both in size and rechargeable integral battery that lasts several hours. It has the ability to store favourite channels, and the interface on the front is simplicity itself. And what about the sound I hear you ask - Well, it's better than I imagined for the size of this little box - it certainly isn't tinny - far from it. Considering the size of the unit, it packs an impressive punch - with welcome bass notes and great high end - it's probably what Bose is missing in its portfolio of products - and it would be a damn good competitor to them if they did in my opinion.

Cute but powerful
I have two Roberts FM radios' and a teas-made with a built-in FM radio, all three were picking up interference on the particular radio station I like to listen to when I get up. So decided to go for a small DAB radio. Found this little cutie and knowing how good Roberts radio's are (from experience plus I have a DAB radio in the kitchen), I decided to go for it. WOW! is an understatement! Not only did this tune in to my fav., station easily, it doesn't even need the aerial up. And on FM, it picked up the station really well, almost like it was sucking in the signal and boosting it! The tone is beautiful and not tinny. You can set the alarm to wake with either a buzzer or the radio. Mine's set to the radio and it comes on, gently increasing to the volume I set, so you won't jump out your skin! The alarm can be set to weekdays only or everyday. V. useful. It is very portable, very sturdy and has a solid feel to it. Just One gripe is the size of the screen display. But, lets face it, once you set it to your favourite radio station do you really need to look at it? All-in-all it is a lovely bit of kit and I would highly recommend it.

Brilliant!
I do enjoy listening to the radio there is no doubt and I appreciate a good quality sound. I was looking for a small radio with DAB+ and FM and while trawling through manufacturers advertising I found the Roberts Petite 2. Having read glowing reports I decided to give it a go. It arrived on the day I ordered it which is excellent. I eagerly unpacked the radio and had a quick look at the instructions which I found clear and easy to understand. The radio itself is cute, small but perfectly formed and is available in a choice of several colours. It was a doddle to set up including setting radio presets! The quality of sound which comes from this radio is good, no, it's really, really good for something so small. It has a sound which made me think wow, how does something so dinky produce such a big, rich sound like that? I also found it very sensitive and received lots of stations both on DAB and FM. I particularly wanted DAB+ as so many of the new stations only transmit in DAB+. The rechargeable battery was perfect for my needs to...ideal for carrying from room to room and not having to worry about plugging it into the mains. I can also connect a pair of hi-fi stereo headphones to the output socket and the sound is like listening to a full blown hi-fi system! It also features Bluetooth so I was able to send music from my phone to it as well. If I had to nit pick about anything I would say the info screen could have been a little bit bigger. Having said that it certainly isn't a deal breaker for me and with my specs on I can read the text fine. This radio blows me away, it has made me listen to more and more radio stations than I have done in a long time. Perhaps it's the nostalgia trip thing taking me back to listening to the radio under the bed sheets back in the 1960s! You may have guessed by now how much I like it... that's an understatement! Highly recommended!

Small, beautiful and sounds great!
This isn't the cheapest option for a digital radio but I'm delighted with it. The sound quality is excellent, it is easy to use and connects well with my phone if I want to listen to audiobooks etc. check the size carefully before purchasing - it is tiny - but for me that is part of its appeal! Rechargeable so great for taking on holiday or on a day trip. The volume doesn't go incredibly loud, but it's good enough for me. Very happy with my purchase

Wonderful, but keep your watch on !
At over £90 this is a relatively expensive mini radio. You can get one for a third of the price. However this Roberts is worth it for the sound and build quality, for ease of use and if a choice of colours is important. You will also need to be in a region of the country which has good DAB reception, true for any DAB radio. Where we live the reception does at times dip in and out at times. But you do need to know that if displaying the time is important to you, it does not, only when it is plugged into your power source. For me this is a radio for the bathroom so that clearly this isn't possible and therefore a bit of a disappointment. A reason may be to save battery but I can hardly think this is so significant. The time is shown however in battery mode when switched on and the radio playing but the text is very small and hard to see. The photos show this. As yet, looking at the instructions and trying things, I haven't discovered how to delete a preset station in FM so some of them just crackle irritatingly. In DAB mode the radio only tunes in to those stations with good reception so the job is done for you and you just choose which one you want by scrolling. Overall I'm glad I bought it and would recommend Roberts Revival PETITE 2 nevertheless with these provisos.

A treat for your ears and eyes.
Perfect radio with a few cons. It sounds amazing and I like the natural tonality, very good reception. Display has everything needed and it's brightness goes very dim. Buttons are clicky and they easy to find in the dark by touching. The whole radio feels premium and it's just so cute. One medium con. The knob could've been a station select or at least a volume control, but it's frequency scanning which is the least useful function to me. To change the station you need to long press the knob to open Menu, then short press the knob to select Recall Preset -menu and then scroll list to select the station and apply it by pressing the knob. Three presses and some turns of the knob just to change the station. Imagine the ammount of presses if you like to surf the stations. This is also too complicated to do without looking and it doesn't help that the preset stations are saved by frequencies not by names. One minor con. If I could I would change is scale of volume levels. You can barely hear level 2 and level 3 is too loud. In the silent room volume levels really makes a difference when falling to sleep. There are 20 levels and I never need higher than level 5. Last words. The price was quite high with all the shipping and customs but I think it's worth it. I went throu like 50 radios when I was finding the right bedside radio for me. This is it. I hope this radio will last a very very long time and can be fixed when it finally breaks.

Best small portable radio ever
During our last visit to the UK we had our first exposure to Roberts radios in our hotel rooms. All of us were impressed with the clarity and richness of the sound plus the vintage look. We wanted to have one at home. Once the package arrived the ease of set-up, small size, quality materials and feel only added to the value of the sound. The rechargeable battery really does last 20 hours and charges again in a short time. Just couldn't be happier with a radio.

Small box but big sounds.
Amazon delivery was quick. Packaging could have been better as the inner box had clearly taken some journey marks. I wanted a small portable DAB/FM radio and I knew Roberts was a known brand. I was considering another much cheaper on Amazon Roberts model but reading the reviews of that model there were references that the PETITE2 was smaller but sounded better. Anyway the sound is incredible for the size. If you heard it without seeing it you would think it was at least 4 times the size at least. It does not have super loud bass but unlike many radios of a similar size you can really hear those low notes. DAB reception is good when locked given radio signals where I live are suboptimal. Just moving around can stutter some channels but this radio is more stable than some other DAB radios in the same location. FM reception is good even with some weaker signals. Bluetooth is great playing from my phone. Black Velvet by Alannah Myles sounds brilliant, You can really hear that bass line. The display even shows the track information from my phone app. Pros. - Small 'Petite' size - Brilliant full bodied sound for the size. Vocals are deep and rich sounding - Clear but small display, it's a small radio after all. - Very easy to set up, auto scan on setup. - Channel list is alphabetical (on DAB) so easy to switch to a channel you know - The finish of the Pastel Cream is great with a soft leatherette finish on the top and sides Cons - You should use the supplied USB-C cable to charge the radio. Some USB-C cables I tried did not charge even when using the same power supply. I have two out of a bundle that will charge the radio - No direct access to pre-set channels (there isn't any room for dedicated buttons), I don't bother with them and just scroll to the channel that I want to listen to so no problem for me. Conclusion - It is expensive compared to some other options but it does sound great - If you just want background sound you could get something a lot cheaper but if you want to listen to the radio this is possibly the one to go for depending on your needs.
