Not embroidered.
Overall, remember this: you get what you pay for. I assumed the crown was embroidered on, but it's an iron on patch. My son was disappointed, but still wears it when he does yard work. The hat itself isn't bad, the fabric seems sturdy but I'd have preferred the blank version rather than an iron on sticker, and that information wasn't available in the listing. Hope this helps!
