Helps eliminate those spam calls
You just get so many spam calls on a daily basis. This cuts down on them. After adding a number to the box, which is just one button push away, it's in the system. The next time it tries, your phone may ring once but, once the Mcheeta catches it, it diconnects the call. Most spam calls are computer generated and so afetr so many attempts, they drop your number.

Can't unblock
I bought this for my senior mother who gets a lot of scam calls. She has blocked all numbers that call her so family can't reach her. The manual has no solution to unblock.

Works to block if on the phone. Doesn't block all numbers. To unblock its confusing.
It's ok.

Excellent!
Easy setup & no more unwanted phone calls once I blocked a few (since my landline memory was full).

No LED to tell you that you have a new call
No LED to tell you you have a new call. So you have to get down close enough to see the display. They say the display has different levels of brightness but I couldn't fighre out how to brighten it up.

Does not tell you that caller ID from phone carrier is required
I am really disappointed when product descriptions neglect to inform you of essential requirements regardinding a product and what it may require to make it work successfully. And instead make the setup seem super simple and explicitly state nothing additional is needed. As is the situation with this product. The product description and packaging neglect to mention that in order for this device to operate correctly you need to have caller ID service from your phone carrier activated. Which I guess it could seem like something everyone has now a days, everyone that is except who this product is specifically being marketed toward, namely seniors. Many of whom don't have such add on services, such as my Mom whom this was supposed to be for. Additionally the description says all you need to hook it up is the included extra phone cable, however for use with an answering machine and other possible set up configurations you will likely need a phone line splitter. There is no mention in the product description of the possible need for any additional equipment for the initial setup. Instead making it seem super easy for any senior to set up with nothing additional needed. The mention of these additional requirements would have a least made it easier to consider not purchasing if you were not inclined to get the required caller ID service from your phone carrier. The main reason this product seemed so great was that it did not require caller ID, but it seems that if one were to just get caller ID on its own, can't you just set it to block anonymous or unknown calls anyway without the need for such a device?
