The Good, Bad, and Overall...
The Good: 3 grams of fiber with no added sugar. I want to experiment with coconut water and pineapple juice smoothies. I know I can make gelatin, but I also want to try to make juice base smoothies thicker. The Bad: Like any thickeners, it is best to use very hot water for best results. I will see how coconut water reacts to heat.Overall: Glad to have this to do trials and errors, and not rely on cornstarch or other chemical thickeners. The holidays are coming up, so I will be able to test my ideas out.

Well that was some good jello
So starting off this product came quickly and will probably last me a very long time because you don't use a lot honestly if I'd known how much I was going to end up using it probably would have ordered a smaller much smaller containerHowever for a first time using a vegan friendly gelatin substitute it was not the easiestNo don't get me wrong if you are looking for a Jello consistency this did that too great successBut if you are looking more of a jelly consistency or just a thickener you're going to want to experiment a little bit otherwise like me you will end up with dandelion Jello it was good and now that I'm talking about it I'm craving it againBut not be exact results I was looking for what's delayed a business opportunitySucks to suck on my part

As described
This was exactly how I expected it to be and there were no issues. I'm still learning how to use agar agar but this has been an easy product to experiment with.

Gelatin Substitute
Since I cannot eat gelatin because of the monosodium glutamate, I got this “Agar Agar Powder” to make homemade marshmallows. However, after researching the safety of Agar Agar, I found that it contains iodine, which I am allergic to. I am thankful that I did research before consuming the Agar powder. This is not to say that this Agar Agar is not a good product, it’s just that I cannot consume it. Perhaps a package warning label might be appropriate for this product. If you choose to use this supplement, I would suggest doing research first.

Boil the liquid if you want it to set
I have used Agar Agar in its raw form to make Almond Jelly before. It's my first time using Agar Agar powder to make Almond Jelly. On the bag, it has instructions on how to use it as a thickener. I wish it came with recipes and instructions on how to use it to make desserts. At first, I thought it was an instant powder that you would only need to add hot water to it, but it wouldn't set at all. Then, I found instructions on other Agar Agar powder pages on Amazon and came up with my own.If you want it to set or solidify, you must boil the liquid. Since my first attempt didn't set, I used a bit more powder than needed. I added 2 level tablespoonful of the powder to about 3 cups of water and brought it to a boil. I let it simmer on low for about a couple minutes and it started to thicken. Then, I turned off the stove and added a cup of milk to it, along with sugar and a bit of almond extract. In the end, it made about 3.5 cups of almond jelly. The jelly set within an hour and it was a bit firm, so I think I need to more liquid next time. That said, if you're making a firmer dessert, my ratio might be right. The powder is convenient to use and it came in a resealable bag. I just need to figure out the correct ratios for different desserts. No country of origin listed.
