Fast read of Slow Productivity
Cal Newport brings his signature style and fresh perspective to the frenzy and busy lives of knowledge workers.I got personally invested n engaged with the book. I had realized I am doing something wrong.Always busy, always on my toes, doing so many things but no outcome to show. I looked at a few self help books like Make Time, One Thing, n lined up Essentialism..But probably it's Cal Newport, a scholarly attitude, hypothesis driven writing is what appealed me n provided me logic, rational behind my non productivity but super busy life. Moreover examples from writing lives, academi. Life made the argument persuasive and appealing. Some music industry illustrations were bit boring for me, however that may be personal as I am unaware of those artists.Book, a fast n quick read on slow productivity, is going to have deep impact on the deep work of knowledge workers.

excellent approach
This book is an excellent approach to a thought process of questioning what productivity really means. And beautifully questions, pseudo productivity, and not getting burnt out.. to achieve something substantial in life, one needs to keep on going. He points out that we get so tired of our daily schedule that we miss the desire of achieving quality and good. Lovely guide to making your life a masterpiece.

Great combination of the philosophy, concepts and practical steps to embodying ‘Slow Productivity’!
I like the dispersed storytelling accompanied with reflections from Cal on the current obsession over productivity! The practical steps are helpful to build a routine and plan that can be tailored to your own situation.

Title of this book should be People who follow Slow Productivity
All author wanted to share is 3 ideas about slow productivity, which are1. Do fewer things.2. Work at natural pace3. Obsess over quality. But this book goes on and on, pages after pages, about people who followed these principles. So 95% of this book is about the life of these people, how they grew up and what happened in their life that led them to accidentally follow principle of slow productivity. So in my personal opinion, main course is missing, just side dishes served as examples after examples.I have read most of Cal Newports book till now, and unfortunately this book is not unto his usual standards. Still his fan, and hope his next book is better, than this one.

A different perspective for current generation
It's a book written primarily for people working in creative fields, but the author addresses all knowledge workers of today, and gives solution to them to becoming creative.I liked his first and third solution. Couldn't relate much with the second one - work at a natural pace.Definitely worth reading like most of his books are.
