So far it works well
This cleaver seems to do a great job. I have attached pictures from my fuser of the first three cleaves I did with this fiber cleaver. The cuts look good and are acceptable to the fuser. The fuser will tell you if you have a bad cleave, and the ends are not usable. But as you can see in the photos, the first 3 are nice and clean. I really like the auto return on the slide. That is a nice feature to have on a lower priced cleaver. I do wish I had gotten the one with the scrap fiber collector box. It was pictured with this one, but the description did not mention it. They have a different model with the collection box included in the pictures as well as in the description. I can live without the collection box. The cleaver does a nice job right out of the box, without any adjustments. I am happy, and can recomend this cleaver. It comes in a small zippered softsided box with instructions that could be better written, and two allen wrenches I assume are for adjustments and rotating the cutting wheel. I have made no adjustmentes.Again, I am happy with the cleaver and I see it getting plenty of use. I can recomend this unit

High Quality Optical Fiber Cleaver
This portable fiber optic cleaver is solid as can be. The look and feel of it says quality. This isn’t a cheap product, but rather a professional one. The instructions aren’t the best. It’s probably best to do a little search online to learn the ins and outs if you don’t know how to use one of these.Hint: for those who might say it doesn’t make a good cut – first, check to make sure you’ve completely stripped the fiber of any covering material. If you don’t, it can ruin the cut; second, clean the stripped fiber with alcohol BEFORE you cut it, not afterward; and third, make sure the cutting wheel is still sharp (more rotations to a new spot is best before it’s worn down too much). Finally, check your work with a VFL (Visual Fault Locator).Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? Yes, this is a professional portable optical fiber cleaver at a good price.

Portable, lightweight budget fiber cleaver
Portable, lightweight budget fiber cleaver with a storage case. So far, it works great: for the first ten cuts, the angle of the cut was below 0.1. The cleaver model 6C is suitable for infrequent splicing. Suppose you plan to do multiple-in-a-row fusion splicings, such as at data centers or communication closets. In that case, the model 60C equipped with Auto Scrap Collector Box will be the most optimal because the fiber debris is hazardous. I will update my review when I learn more about long-term cut quality and blade longevity.

Perfect for a traveling tech
I don't always need a cleaver, but now I have one in my tool bag just in case I need it. My old cleave was the size of an old lunchpale, cost a ton, and needed it's own carry case. This little cute cleaver is small enough to get lost within my tool bag, but the weird text on the black case will remind me of what's inside.Once the fiber is stripped we place it into the cleaver with the right amount of cladding removed and make that cleave. This cleaver has a bunch of magnets inside, one magnet holds the fiber in place and the other magnets engage when the top door is shut to allow for the top to stay in-place and the blade can be lifted and pushed against the glass to cleave/cut. Works well.
