Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel, Island Fantasy, 8 Fl oz - Curl Defining, Frizz Control for All Hair Types

My first order for this gel was back in 2019 after my friend recommended it. I wear my hair curly on a daily basis and cannot preserve it over night (despite trying), so I style it with this gel almost every day. It is a fantastic gel and whenever people ask what products I use, this is the only one I recommend (the others do not do affect the final results anywhere near as much). I love the Island Fantasy scent, but also order the fragrance free when it is not available in the size I'd like. The product works the same. My results are always best when I diffuse, even if I only spend five minutes. I like that this forms a cast that I can crunch out, but it doesn't make my hands feel icky and prompt me to immediately wash them if I touch my hair during the day. It also doesn't seem to build up on the days I do not use shampoo to condition and restyle, which I have noticed with other gels in the past. I lived in Austin, Texas for two years and was told by other friends who lived there that it was a "dry heat" prior to moving. Well, that turned out to be entirely FALSE, but my hair was kept under control thanks to this gel. Of all the gels I have tried over the past 20 or so years, this one is the best. I'm the laziest curly girl and I barely spend more than five minutes to apply gel and style my hair. I'm including a picture in hopes it will be helpful, although I know my results are nowhere near as perfect as others who take the proper time and do all the techniques. With ADHD and no patience to diffuse for 45+ minutes a day, this gel helps me look presentable for society and I still manage to receive frequent compliments. It is worth every penny!

Jessicurl products always amaze me. This is the first product I bought from them, and since then I fell in love with the brand. This gel is perfect and works really well for my hair. It has a medium-strong hold, its not drying and makes hair feel smooth and moisturized even after dry. It is really fragrance, SMELLS LIKE NOTHING, and that's AMAZING! Also, the small bottle is a perfect trial size before you buy the big bottle. I love when companies allow you to buy trial sizes.

This stuff stinks!!! Seriously I have heard so much about this curly hair product that I almost had a fit when it took longer than originally stated to get to me. I actually pushed washing my hair for several days back. Just so I could use this product when it arrived. This is just how excited i was to use this product. I ordered ringlets & the gel. I think I am saying that correctly. However If I am not please forgive me. One is to help with the curl definition the other is the gel without glycerin. So yes I was super excited because I am from Florida born & raised. I just now at 47 years young found out about what different ingredients in hair care products could do to affect the outcome of final styled look. So of course I thought heck yeah let's try some glycerin free hair care products!! Let me start by saying my hair seems to not mind the glycerin in the hair products. I wouldn't have known this had I not at least tried to go without them. A matter of fact I personally feel like my hair looks better with products with glycerin in them. So ladies & gents just because you read something that states differently, it isnt hands down a fact for all hair types. Just remember that. I have always loved hair care products you could actually point me out as having a bit of a problem when it comes to having a bit to many products. Going a little bit overboard purchasing more than one person would ever need in a lifetime. What can I say its fun to try them all out. I am in love with the Jessie curl products but the scent disgust me to the point that I just might have to throw it away. I really love the results of the one that helps my curl definition. The gel without the glycerin in it is just okay. I am very happy for the people that it does work for!!! I praise the company for putting out a product that does work so well for so many people. I just say the scent is so bad for me personally that I cant get past that. I was thinking about tryint thr other scent. I do like scents in my hair care so going with the unscented isnt my cup of tea either. Jessie curl I thank you for making an outstanding product that does exactly what you have on the bottle. LOVEEE this product. My first light weight gel and I’m in love with the smell. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue. No weird white clumps. Hair does not feel crunchy after cast wears off. My only issue is that it does feel a little drying so I would put on something moisturizing first.

I love this stuff. Not too strong not too soft. Just make sure to keep water out of the bottle.

I am going to try it again but the product came separated into a very thin liquid and a big chunk in the middle of the bottle. I don’t know if this is normal and the instructions say to shake well but even shaking it up excessively didn’t fully reconstitute the product. My curls were very bouncy and full on day one even after sleeping on them. By morning, there was little to no cast left and there was some frizz. Second day, I definitely needed some additional product to control the frizz. It is my first time using this, so I am not sure if it is user error or has something to do with the product being clumpy.

This gel is great! I normally prefer fragrance free products but for some reason never thought to give this gel a try. I haven’t even done a full curl routine with this yet or paired it with a curl cream (because I’m lazy) and my curls still look so much more defined and last so much LONGER than any other gel OR mousse I’ve tried—fragrance free or not! It gives a GREAT strong hold with almost no cast that lasts for days. I’m 2C/3A and have high porosity hair and it really works amazingly for my hair type/porosity. It doesn’t weigh my hair down at all, but definitely leaves build up so wash days are as always important!

Lightweight gel and love that my hair feels really soft after using but still holds the curls well. I find some gels really hard to work through my hair but not this- almost as soft as a leave in conditioner and I can brush it through my curls easily with a brush.

I used the product 3 times and all 3 times it made my curls look oily and lifeless and weighed down. I have 2B/C curls. I changed the amount of product I used but it still didn’t work for me.

Erst Pfui, dann Hui :D Anfänglich habe ich zu wenig verwendet und auch nicht auf triefend nassem Haar. Das führte zu kleben und ungleichmäßiger Struktur. Jetzt knete ich es in wirklich nasses, gebürstetes Haar, leave in davor rein und mit einem Mikrofasertuch ,,scrunche‘‘ ich das Wasser heraus. Tolle locken, beste Haltbarkeit.

For many (many) years, I used Matrix Styling Glaze to hold the shape of my long curls. It lasted forever, and was great for day #2 curls revitalized. Alas, they stopped making it. (Boo, Matrix!) I've tried so many products since then, that I could open my own store of once-used or not-even-opened hair products. Until now. Spiralicious is the closed thing I've found. It's light, but holds my curls beautifully. Day #1, 2 and if I really wanted to, #3. There is hardly any fragrance, so it doesn't compete with product that do have scents. I find I do have to use quite a bit, unfortunately, so this bottle isn't going to last long. I'll have to inquire about the availability of purchasing it in 45 gallon drums. I'm not going to risk losing THIS amazing defining cream. ;)
