This is such a sweet book and a great resource for families with adopted children. The story follows Isabel, who was adopted, as she deals with sad thoughts that she has kept inside. She worries that her parents won't want to keep her or that they will stop loving her. The book is wonderful at putting a voice to thoughts that adopted children may worry about sharing with their families, but also provides reassurance that they will always be loved. There are even some breathing/calming techniques integrated into the story that would be great to introduce to children who struggle with how to calm down and stop feeling sad. This book is such a great story with relatable characters and beautiful illustrations. You and your family will love it!

This book is so well-written and positive for adoptive families or just a child feeling different. It highlights the love of the child’s family and how important communication is to all relationships. Isabel, an adopted little girl, uncovers her worth and how she is just as special as the other members in her family. The story is told from such a unique and relatable perspective that it often moves the reader to tears of joy and compassion.It brought my 50 year old husband to tears and our 3 year old to many “awwww”s. This is a must for every family library!

As an elementary teacher, I wish I had this book years ago to read to my students and discuss. Emily Belknap tells a heartwarming story that helps explain the feelings of so many children. All children need to hear this message of eternal love.

The story talks about the range of emotions one can feel related to their adoption story. It respects and appreciates the birth parents’ place in the child’s mind and heart. Reading this with your child gives them permission to share their honest feelings about adoption. It also gives children reassurances they need to hear the most from their parents.

This was such a great book and the perfect gift to share with loved ones. Absolutely recommend adding it to your home, classroom, and community libraries!

This book is a must have for adoptee children. It is written in a positive all inclusive easy to read manner that will delight any child from 3 to 100. The illustration are lovely my neice who is adopted asks me to read it again and again.
