Suction of kitchen smoke does not work.
Do not buy do not buy do not buy. Probably one of the worst items I’ve ever purchased. If you think the suction is good it’s horrible. Do not buy big mistake on my part. Installed it tiled around it so to take it down would be a complete hassle, do not buy

Works well and I think worth the money.
So far so good. I took my time and did clean job installing smooth metal ductwork. I also installed a good roof jack (FAMCO GN8) both which help with performance. Made a few calls to NXR with questions and they answered right away. We own a NXR stove (for five years now with zero problems) and did a lot of research before buying this vent hood. I saw some complaints about this hood in other reviews so let me give my personal thoughts on that. This hood is quiet. At least I think so. The instructions say to install 28 to 30 inches above the stove. Don't do that. After talking to NXR support, they recommended it goes around 34 - 36 inches above our NXR gas stove. I had just about 34 and it works great. I also heard some folks complain about shaking. Our copy is smooth. There is very (very) light shaking at high speed that is 90% gone now that the vent is screwed in place. This part is important!! If you have restrictions in the duct work, it will shake bad. I tested this when I was installing it by blocking off the duct with my hands and the unit will shake. Unblock it and it stops. Properly sized 8 inch ductwork thru-out the entire duct run is critical. The instructions state one damper. We are in a cold climate so I have two dampers in my setup. One is built into the roof jack. The other is inline about 1 foot above the vent hood (It's an Aldes). I called NXR support and they agreed that it was ok to use two dampers. I saw some complaints about the lights being dim and green. Ours are pretty bright and a fairly neutral white so no complaints there. The stainless finish looks good to me. It is NOT a Wolf or Vent-a-Hood quality finish but it looks really nice and matches my NXR stove. Overall, I like it. Paid $399 here on Amazon and it included free shipping so hard to beat. We'll see how it hold up over time.
