Great for the price - with installed batteries
The lightsaber comes with batteries and it's great for the price. My kids loved it and it's nice that you can use it right away, without having to worry about the batteries.

Fun Light Saber for Kids, But with Some Limitations
This plastic toy light saber comes with batteries preinstalled, so all you need to do is remove the tab to start the fun. The saber extends and glows, and can be retracted to a third of its length. However, it doesn't make sounds during motion or impact, so you have to press the button each time for the effects. While not a deal breaker, the toy sword feels a bit "plasticky," and the retractable sections are slightly rough around the edges. Although I think the build and features could be better for the price, I’m sure kids will still enjoy it.
