Great shaver ,

There are lots of Brauns, this seemed to be a good balance of quality and price. I used a 3 series and was not impressed. This is lightweight and the battery last a very long time. Used it on a 2 week vacation and did not bring the charger. The charging holder takes up a little space but works well. Gives a good shave but not nearly as close as a razor.

I had changed from a $40 no-name rotary, which did an okay job, yet not a real close shave, and was disappointed when the Braun really wasn't clearly better for three times the price. It could give a close shave eventually, but was slower, seemed to miss in patches I had to go back to, and the biggest gripe was if you skipped a day it really struggled with even one day's extra growth. I have a thin, patchy growth, so the cutting heads don't get a tough workout. On make-up day it would get most of it fairly quickly, but there'd be strands all over that I had to go back and try to get. Anyhow, my original head was about eighteen months old, figuring it needed replacement because I was getting more burn. One day I dropped the head in the sink and the two of the three cutting sections popped out. I gave up trying to put it back together and gambled on the price of another head rather than try a whole new shaver. Voila! The thing works better than it ever did! Close, easy shaves, no problems skipping a day. When I examined the old head after falling apart it appeared the middle section, which I suspect helps a lot with longer growth because of the size of the openings, was somehow not working, the mechanism looked busted or perhaps not connected up with the connector bar that drove it from one of the side cutters. Anyway, I'm glad I bought the replacement - saved the whole shaver for me, and am finally happy with it. I don't give it five stars because of eighteen months of disappointment due to the apparent defective head.

My kiddo loved the new shaver. A perfect gift for sure. Nicely packaged and easy to charge.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I really like the charging base, its solid and supposed to clean the machine.. I did not shave for 2-3 days and the shaver really had problems, I had to go over and over the same spot, some of the spots I was even afraid because it felt like pulling a hair, hurt. On the end after double time as for my wet shave, I still had spots left :( So I had to pull out the wet shaver. I have a feeling even the design feels nice and compact its outdated. I grow up in Germany and some companies think the don't need to improve a design :( For me at least its not working, I will try one more time on a 1-2 day shave where my hair is not so strong ! But really hope the other brand with 3 rotating heads will do a better job ! After testing Phillips Rotary Shave System, Braun seems to be 10 years behind thats why the one Star ! The other shaver gets almost all hair on first or 2nd run, while the Braun I have to go 5 times ! Also it includes an App that your phone can connect to the shaver monitoring how you shave advising you to rotate more and showing when blades need to be replaced. Sorry Brown you need to innovate and not wait 10 years or more ! Thank you Amazon for having the option returning items that not work very well !

Works well, but to get a close shave on the neck area, you have to do multiple passes and press firmly which leaves my skin badly irritated for days after. I ended up resorting to a double edge razor for my neck area. A good alternative is the Norelco 9 rotary shaver. Doesn't leave me with as much irritation, but feels less precise. Both give a very close shave on the face.

This is my second series 7 Braun. The shaver gives me an excellent close shave for an electric razor. I used to use a rotary shaver that never got me nearly as close as this. I bought this because my blade cartridge in my old razor was ready for a replacement and this was only about $40 more at the time than buying a replacement cartridge. It also included the cleaning station which is a GAME CHANGER! It keeps the razor fresh and clean so that it shaves much closer every day. You just empty the shavings, pop in in the station and it cleans and charges so it's ready for you the next day. SUPER EASY!
