I bought this because I noticed strange behavior with my cat going to his litter box. This morning I checked his box and saw blue, orange, and red crystals and decided to take him in. Turns out he has a UTI, blood, and bacteria in his urine, just like the crystals told me. Even with him burying everything, I was able to get a close look and scoop around to see the colors. This product is definitely worth it if you’re questioning if your cat needs to go to the vet.

I don't generally like to call items overpriced since it's impossible to know the cost of design, testing, manufacturing, distribution, etc. But for premium products to be priced at a premium, they must deliver premium benefit or performance. Otherwise, they are overpriced. And I can't gauge the effectiveness of this product as a whole, but for the sample size that we tried it was a complete failure. Given our experience, there is zero chance that we would purchase a larger quantity.We love the instruction for this product that reads "just pour whole packet over new cat litter so that it forms a thick layer." There was less than a cup of product in the package. It would not form a shallow layer in the box, much less a thick layer. In fact, it was nowhere near enough to even cover the surface. And after the cat entered the box one time, the Genius product was barely noticeable. And certainly not able to show any sort of color delineation.As with most pet owners, we had hopes to find a product that could provide early indication of health issues. But the product that we tried did not succeed and is not ready for prime time. As a long time Dave Ramsey listener, we will assign this purchase to the stupid tax category.

Litter Genius is such a great product! We had the opportunity to try out their health monitoring litter additive and it’s worked great so far. So far it’s worked great to help me monitor my cats health. And I love that this is an additive to litter so you don’t have to worry about changing your cats litter to something new. It comes in a small lightweight and compact container and is very easy to use. Definitely recommend!

I like that this is an additive to existing litter rather than using a new litter. My cats and I love our litter and I will not change that. They don’t notice this is mixed in so that’s great. I haven’t seen any color change so I can’t speak on how that works and left of one star for that. I’m not noticing much smell from the box so I think the deodorizing feature is working well. I do think the price is a bit high for the quantity. With three cats we refill litter frequently so this doesn’t last long.

I have seen the litter that changes colors to show if there are any urinary health problems with your cat. Being that most of the diagnosis litter runs around $40, I thought I could put this on top of my current litter. I did just that. My cat used the litter box & then scratched - I didn’t take that into account. When the cat scratches, all the color changing litter is buried so you can’t see any color change. This ended up being useless. I did end taking my cat into the vet & paying a little over $200 to treat her UTI. I won’t buy this again. Waste of money.

I've now ordered at least 3 boxes of 2 pretty litter. The price has almost doubled in in the last 9 months. The first one I had I though worked. It is not good in a covered box, even when it's only 1 cat. At the 10 day mark, with cleaning the poo out and stirring the crystals daily, the stench became so awful the cat stopped using it. I also tried Fresh Step crystals, also a waste of money. Up next: Petco brand. Wish me luck.
