Works great but transformer stopped working
The transformer recently stopped working. Is there a replacement part available? Not sure why it “gave up the ghost” but it is dead. I only gave it 4 stars for this reason. Other than this, very happy with my purchase.

First Smoker - Love it (Might need software update)
First, it's a great grill, the only issue I've had is the temp displaying going wacky. I called support, they were great, I just needed to do a software update (it's actually the previous version of the software, I think) and it worked great after that.QUALITY:Fantastic, and one of the top reasons to get it. It's built really wellCAPACITY:More than you think, we've done two 8 pound pork butts to feed 3 families and had left overs. Unless you're wanting to cook a LOT of food, this should be good for any family.TEMP:Fantastic temperature consistency and control. Set it and forget it.FEATURES:The WiFi works great and really is nice (once again, this might need the software update mentioned above)PRACTICALITY:Meh. The handles are flimsy but I removed them and built a basic cart for it out of spare woodFLAVOR:Pretty good. I'd like to get more smoke, but overall, the flavor is goodOVERALL:The best value you can get if you want a good smoker (just be sure to do the software update if it's acting weird)

Great little smoker
To start off, I'm a beginner, and this has been a great little smoker to get started.Things I love:It fits on the small deck at my townhouseWireless connectivity - Buying a wifi thermostat can run $100+, so having that built in is super great! I love being able to check the temperature from anywhere in my house. Can also setup to see outside your local network, but I haven't tried that yetSize: It's a great size for cooking for my family of 5 and having leftovers.Things I don't love:It weighs 70 lbs. I don't want to move the thing to take it tailgating, camping etc cause it's heavy. Not a huge deal since you don't stand there and cook most of your food like you do with a gas grill, but the legs are short, so you do have to squat down to check on your food.Things I've cooked on it so far:Pork shoulder butt for pulled porkFull chickenpork ribsburgersDiGiorno pizzaOverall I love it, and would highly recommend it!

My Go To Pellet Smoker!!
So far I’ve been very happy with this grill. I bought is specifically for tailgating and RV use. I've had it less than a month and cooked (smoked) on it at least a dozen times everything from Pork Butt, Chicken Wings, a 10 lb. Turkey and also Bacon. In fact I also own a "Grilla Grills Silverbac" pellet smoker (A GREAT grill by the way).. I find that I use the Davey Crockett all the time and leave the Silverback under the cover. For a family of 2 the Davey Crockett is the perfect size for my needs. Ohh and I really love the Wifi aspect. Now I can be inside my house and not have to go outside to check temps. One thing I like about the Wifi is it can be placed in "Server” or "Local" mode. Server mode allows you to run errands away from your house on those really long smokes and still check on the status of the smoker whereas local mode is as the name applies. Another great thing that makes this a "True" tailgater is the power. It uses a 12V DC input for power but comes with all adapters needed so if you are powering from a 120V source it will convert to 12V DC. Also comes with "Clips" to allow you to connect directly to a 12V car battery or you can power directly from the "cigarette lighter”. For even further portability I use a small 12V DC power supply that’s good for about 50 hours of grilling time before I need to recharge. I really like how once I set my required temp is that is stays steady with no swing in temps (PID Controller.?). However, one thing I don't like is the fact I’ve measured about a 15 degree difference between the left side and right side of the smoker with the right side being the hotter even with the heat deflection plate slid to the far right (per the instructions). I don’t have this issue with my Silverbac smoker. I'm guessing because the Silverbac uses heaver gauge steel and is insulated so the heat stays more uniform.PROS:*Very portable at 67 pounds*Folding legs also doubles as carrying handle*12V DC input uses battery clips, cigarette lighter or AC/DC converter to power* PID Controller (I think)* Wifi (Server/Local modes)* Slick App for WiFi use (also allows adjustment of temps by 1 degree)* Comes with a second probe to monitor internal food tempsCONS:* 15 degree difference between left side and right side (on my smoker at least) but has not been an issue with any of my smokes.

Davy CrocketT GM Grill performs well except for the12 volt plugs
Have used this grill two times. The only problem has been with the 12 volt plugins. The first time I used the grill I gently bumped the 12 volt plug at 120 volt / 12 volt converter and lost power and had to do a restart. Lost power about two hours later. Found loose plug connection. Had to restart again.Second time use. I happened to be looking out window to check the temperature and a wren ( small bird) was flittering around and I saw it light on the 12 volt plugin on the back of the pellet hopper and the weight of this bird was enough to cause a momentary power loss that turned the unit OFF. (THESE PLUGS ARE A PAIN.) The male plugs fit too loosely into the socket. I understand why they are used so the unit can be powered from a 12 volt plug in a vehicle. I've tried bending the springs on the male plug and twisting the plug in but still can't trust the plugins. I am an old USN trained electrician so I'll figure out a fix.PS: I performed a temporary fix. Used electrical tape to securely tape the male and female 12 volt plugs on the outlet of the 120 volt to 12 volt converter. I want to be able to use this 12 volt plug in the future. For the plug at back of pellet hopper I used a small bungee cord wrapped around the plug and hooked to the handle on the hopper and then hooked to the bottom of the hopper. Just have to insure not to interfere with the fan rotation.Sure seems like GMG could design and install some retainer clips that would make these plugs more secure.
