Well made, easy to fit and adjustable.
Used two of these to replace old non-anti-siphon P traps under a double sink unit that needed to join to different height outlets. The adjustable down pipe section made them and easy fit and gave a deal of flexibility that saved me time instead of making up exact fit lengths of waste pipe. The anti-siphon valve has solved gurgling noises from the previous plumbing. The units are solidly made and have a quality feel about them.I think they're worth the slightly higher price.Jobs a good'un as they apparently say...

Can't be used with waste disposal
Waste disposals send the water out at too high a pressure when the sink is full, causing a leak through the aire admittance valve.

Actually caused gurgling I didn't have before
I'm not going to bother taking my waste apart again and returning this but I got it to stop air travelling back up and causing horrible smells from the kitchen sink and it hasn't worked, and has actually caused a gurgle that wasn't there before. Smells are still present, unfortunately a problem with my apartment block that has terrible plumbing a and causes sewer gasses to come up and was told this anti-siphon would negate some of that but unfortunately not.

Does what it says...
No more issues with water gurgling; simple to replace - no tools required and worked a treat. Silence at last.

I hate plumbing.
I absolutely hate plumbing, but I hate it just slightly less than paying for a professional plumber. So when our “click clack” basin plug failed to click or clack, I knew it was time to fix the blasted thing myself. Unfortunately when it came to removing the plug hole thingy, the metal just broke and all the plumbing fittings were stuck together like limpets, presumably with silicon (or gorilla glue :-). Anyway after many profanities I eventually managed to remove enough pieces to need one of these fittings. From previous encounters with waste pipes, I realised that an adjustable fitting would be a really good idea, how right I was! With the aid of some “plumber’s mait” and a few tools, I managed to get this fitted, only due to its “adjustable” nature. I expected Noah’s flood when I ran water through it, but fortunately no such thing happened (In my bathroom I mean, I have no idea about the veracity of Biblical claims concerning Noah :-).

Does the job
Mcalpine fitting well made and quality manufacturing. I was having problems with the kitchen sink trap being drawn due to the washing machine which left a smell in the kitchen. Fitted the anti siphon trap ( problem solved)
