This set would make a lovely gift! The quality and colors make it very giftable. We play a lot of domino games so we were replacing a set that got damaged when we moved. We’ve since moved again and this set held up extremely well! No issues.

This Domino set is good for Mexican Train, or various end scores. IIt is an attractive set being wooden and carved well. The face of the dominoes, the number dots are colored in this set. It is sharp looking and adds to the look. I enjoy this domino set and I recommend it.

This is the first set of wooden dominoes I’ve ever owned, and it does indeed have a unique look and feel. Having 56 is nice, since it allows playing either “Double 6” or the more complicated “Double 9” versions of the game.- Dominoes:Craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. While most of the tops, bottoms and sides are smooth, many of the ends aren’t cut straight and/or have a rough finish which makes standing them on end difficult if not impossible.In addition, the dot paint job on some is very sloppy. Either they’re not completely filled in, or have paint overflowing onto their surface.- Storage box:Also made completely of wood, the craftsmanship here is the opposite of the tiles. It’s wonderfully constructed, with a tight-fitting lid.However, it does present a problem when you want to play “Double 6” games. Although you can obviously store the required 28 tiles in the top two rows, they’re impossible to remove without also dumping out some of the “Double 9” tiles beneath them.Here’s a little trick to get around this: I fabricated a divider with pull tabs out of card stock, then placed it between the 2nd and 3rd rows. Now, I can simply lift the tabs and wah-la, out those first two rows come. The box remains flat on the table, with the bottom two rows completely undisturbed.- Miscellaneous:The included instructions are completely worthless. They’re printed in a tiny font, look like a 10th generation copy, and worst of all contain errors.Even complete beginners won’t need them anyway, since naturally you can find uncountable resources on the Internet with rules not only for the standard game, but also its hundreds of variations along with important strategies.Summary:Even given these shortcomings, it’s still an attractive looking set for the most part. If it wasn’t for QA issues with the tiles, this would easily be a 5-star product.
