Works wonderfully
This little kiln is perfect for fusing some glass pieces in a microwave. You do NOT use the same microwave for fusing that you do for food!!! So I got a separate oven, and after experimenting, know exactly how long to use for each level of fusing I want. After the fusing time is up (8-12 min), you let the kiln cool for 30 minutes, then remove the cover and cool another 30…then you have your piece ready to go!I love designing something and having it my hands a little more than an hour later!

Great for tiny ceramics
I use my microwave kiln often. Like. Several times a week. I’m on my second kiln already. The first one has kind of fallen apart a bit, but I can still piece it together and it’s still fires just the same. I don’t think that’s commentary on the product itself maybe more of the process as a whole. even though my first one kind of broke down in nine months, I still re-ordered the same thing again.Fair warning, it’s always a tighter space than you think. If you’re a ceramics person like me, make your items 10% smaller than you think you’ll need.

Easy to use, difficult to get consistent results
I used this to make mini raku pottery and I have been able to get some decent results and have learned a lot along the way. Main thing, you need a high power microwave. If its not a high power microwave its going to take a LOT longer than you would expect for it to heat up enough across the entire unit. Also, my microwave has a spinner inside it and that seems to maybe help if be more of an even heat? im not certain on that part. Overall I got some good results, but it took a lot of work to get there. Its a fun alternative to a real raku kiln so long as you have tempered expectations.

No instructions? Seriously?
I received the product, great, looks white, round, no instructions are included, really?

Surprisingly effective
For small glass fusing tasks, such as making small pendants and beads, it worked well and the included kiln liners lasted through multiple firings.

May crack
Works well for small projects but developed a crack after 5 or 6 uses. Looks like it may crack in 2 other places as well.

Like the Size, works well in the Microwave!
It comes with 50 sheets to prevent glass sticking to the actual Kiln. Big size to make up to app. 4" diameter pieces.

Descent
Have only used a few times to test out fusing small pieces of glass. The freeze & fuze pieces turned out nice. The surface area is a good size
