After using the Bob books for years in my Prek and Kindergarten classroom we finally found an upgrade! An upgrade I didn’t know we needed! Now as a homeschool mom and a reading tutor, my students are finding these new decoable readers so fun and engaging. The pictures are colorful and rich. The text is not too short but too long. The best part is the fun phonemic awareness activities at the end of each story. You’re really getting a whole lesson in one book. I love how the author/ creator of these series broke up each set. That is something I did not have with the Bob books. I highly recommend this series of readers! It’s such a wonderful upgrade to any classroom, homeschool or family library!

These decodables are a fantastic resource for my first grade students. The stage 8 books are great for targeting skills with readers that are reading for some higher level books. I can easily see how they work through words with diphthongs in them, and they can practice their decoding skills throughout the whole book.

These are great practice for beginning readers. There are so many words for each sound. They provide lots of opportunity for practice for each sound. The stories are also fun to read and talk about!

I have been teaching first grade for 25 years and have been searching for books my students could read as they learned the code. I purchased this set to give it a try in my classroom. I am very impressed with the quality and the excellent use of the skills for each book. I have appreciated the extra practice these give my students with the sound spelling we are working on. There are also activities at the end of each book and word lists to practice at the front of the book. I went ahead and purchased enough sets for my small group instruction.
