Why did I wait so long?
Love this tankless hot water heater! We never run out of hot water and with the remote Bluetooth Re-circulation Push Button (RPB200, you can have up to 5), we activate the demand for hot water only when we need it. While you can still wait momentarily for the hot water, the difference is your not running water while you wait! When we anticipate demand for hot water, we simply push the button (located near kitchen and bathroom sinks), and after a moment or two, turn on the water and it's hot! No more paying for water and sewage fee's just waiting for hot water. You can thank the "Thermal Bypass Valve", included with the RXP model, that is installed at the furthest point away from the water heater (unless you have a dedicated re-circulation return line, which we didn't).One consideration many people overlook, is what happens during a power outage. The answer is "nothing", literally! The unit requires electricity to ignite the gas burners. For this reason, the need to include a backup power source for emergency's is crucial. We included a battery backup unit from Safeguard Power Solutions called "Hugo", which transfers power to the tankless unit immediately upon detecting a power failure, and maintains that power until either the grid power is restored, or the battery is depleted. In an attempt to extend the potential life of the battery, we also purchased the "Flow-Sensor" option with our Hugo purchase. This limits the demand for power to only when water flow is detected (when someone turns on the hot water), rather than draining the battery constantly. While an added cost to the project, life with a tankless unit is different from life with a tank style hot water heater (that 50 gallon reserve of hot water is gone). The initial installation costs will be higher, primarily because a tank style water heater is generally plumbed from above, while a tankless unit plumbs from the bottom, requiring more extensive modification. Having said that, in the future, replacement units should be simple, as is replacing a tank style with a new tank style unit would be today. Finally, I would be remiss not to mention the $600.00 tax credit (30% of purchase/installation cost, up to $600.00 max), we received when filing our tax's this year (2024). The tax credit is limited to only the most efficient models, so do your homework before making a purchase decision.**Water Heaters (Natural Gas) Tax Credit:https://www.energystar.gov/about/federal-tax-credits/water-heaters-natural-gas-oil-propane-tax-creditThis tax credit is effective for products purchased and installed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032.

Easy peasy
Very good purchase for a DIY person like myself. I replaced a 40-gallon tank with this. Gas in, make water connections, plug in. works great. Don't forget year maintenance and it should last 20 years.

Quality unit, pricing, will pay for itself within 6 months
Energy saving, replaced an electric water heater with this model after running a gas line and a vent line, saves about $120 to $200 a month on electricity bills, durable. Not very heavy. One man installation

Great home purchase!
We did a lot of research on tankless hot water heater brands before landing on the Rinnai. We have a 3 bed 2 bath house and this works amazing, and we have no complaints. We had a plumber install for us and we use it on the natural gas setting. Just make sure you select the correct setting between natural gas and propane for it to work! Rinnai and Amazon customer support were both very helpful during the installation process.

easy install & set up
meets all my expectations. had to raise the temp to 125 but after that I have plenty of hot water. unit is noisier then i expected but is in my basement so doesn't matter. I installed the bypass and bought the wifi module which is convenient but necessary. also have a couple of the buttons to start the pump. not sure im impressed with the amount of time it takes to get the hot water....about same as prior. only disappointment is when i turn a faucet to full hot water, the flow seems to drop. I don't recall that with the tank. Am quite happy though after a couple weeks.

Great Tankless Heater
I bought this to replace an older model Rinnai tankless heater. I have a family of 5 and we are constantly using hot water between showers, laundry and dishes. Any tankless unit is going to save space, and energy usage, as well as provide consistent water temperature. I have zero complaint about this unit. However, I would not recommend buying this on your own unless you are going to install it on your own. If you don't use a Rinnai certified technician to install this then there is a very high chance that you will void the warranty. Also most plumbers wont install a unit that they didn't sell. So keep that in mind when considering this purchase.
