Known Quality with a thrifty little tripod
Context: Im a DIY builder and I have renovated my home all by myself. In my last bathroom reno, I bought a budget but very good laser level, my choice at that time was Huepar Box-1G. For $45 at that time, it was value for money. I built my outdoor kitchen and our main kitchen with that thing. Then my best friend borrowed it and I forgot to ask him to return it.So last week I needed to mark the yard to lay down a RV pad. And it occured to me that the laser has the 90 degree cross, so when I called my friend, he ghosted me!!Back to Amazon and thats when I chanced upon this one Heupar 98ft GK011DG. The fact that it had a tripod, caught my attention. So paid $50 bucks and got it. Set it on the tripod last weekend and started drawing the rectangle lines with string. To my surprise, I was done very quickly before lunch! My wife had some pictures to hang which I have been procrastinating for few weeks now! Well, she saw the laser, and it had to be done too. That definitely helped me with the review below. The Good1. The laser is very bright. I could see the lines even at 12pm noon. Ofcourse the workplace was mostly in the shadows under the tree. But the fact that it didnt get washed off by the sunlight is a testament to Huepar quality. Check out the pictures! Apparently the laser diode is from German company OSRAM Green. True Dat!2. The tripod had tilt and perfectly fit this particular task as I only needed a 90 degree turns - on the ground. So tipped the laser down and away I went measuring!!3. Since the laser is accurate, I was able to complete 90 degree turns very very quickly. This would have taken me hours to do with pythagoras calculations and what not. We are not pros right?4. Indoor this laser shines. I mean, it is bright even with the room is lit. But I encountered a limitation...5. The build quality of Huepar is visible. There is no nook/crany gaps. Laser button has that rubber cover which means it can take dywall paste covered hands and still work later.6. Also works with 2AA batteries. I always use rechargeable ones because this thing is thirsty. Especially when you have to keep the laser on while lining up wall tiles.7. The swivel head comes with a bubble level to get your equipment near level before switching on the laser! The Not-so-good1. The height of the tripod didnt let me get the + near the picture frame. Even after I put it on top of a desk. Tilt the head you say? The moment you do the level sensor goes bonkers. It will flash every second almost to let you know its out of level beyond few degrees, which is standard. So you need a taller tripod. (or that magnetic holder...) Check out the picture.2. The quality of the tripod legs is not something I can write about. They are super thin aluminium. Ofcourse for $15 extra you get what you pay for. So its not a complaint, but the one reason that made me buy this version of Huepar is knocked off. However the swivel head is super close to AV equipment quality. Im definitely moving this head to my bigger tripod. I love that swivel head, Its great quality tho. So $15 is a steal!3. The plastic tabs to lock the legs were super flimsy. Im pretty sure I will break one of them or all someday soon. Im not known for handling things smoothly, but we are not talking about that.Who should buy this version:1. If you are OK with one vertical line thats plumb, sure this will work and the tripod helps a lot. Thats $35 for the laser and $15 for the tripod. Decent deal if you ask me! Maybe they will have a coupon during this Thanksgiving!2. You need a small tripod that you can find a better use (food photography?) OR you already have a bigger/taller tripod!! Simply move this head to your better tripod!!Why Huepar Box-1G is better: Remember both are $50 and the Box-1G does NOT come with a tripod.1. It comes with a magnetic holder. Simply stick to a stud nail on the opposite wall and you can hang a painting or level a cabinet2. The Box-1G has a slanting glass which helps in the laser line going to the ceiling too. Trust me it helps when you are lining up recessed lights.Final Thoughts: This is definitely not a bad product. It is worth the five star I gave it, but my heart is set at the Huepar Box-1G. Well its still in the family, right?I have added some pictures to compare both and Im sure you can probably guess which one Im keeping and which one my best friend is getting for christmas!! :DP.S: I sneaked into his garage and got my laser back.

ACCURATE AND EASY TO USE, HIGH QUALITY
Well packaged. This laser was easy to set up especially with the self-leveling feature that automatically levels the laser for you. The green laser shows up much better than the red laser that is typically used in this price range laser. It shows much clearer in brighter room light. This laser is a very good quality for the inexpensive listed price. I have used it several times with awesome results. I do handyman work and use it frequently for my clients. Much easier that using a level and that eyeball leveling system-LOL. Highly recommend.

Perfect Laser for the DIY At a Perfect Price
All of my friends and family memebers know me as Mr. Fixit. I'm the one who they call on, whether it is to hang a picture, or a TV for them. Because of that, I have a "Have Tools Will Travel" bag that I grab, toss it into my truck and away I go. In that bag, I had an old Ryobi laser level that finally died out on me so to Amazon I went to search for a replacement. Now I am a Huepar laser level owner already (except the one I have for personal use would never ever be tossed into my tool bag), I know the quality you get for your money, so when this one showed up in my search, and seeing it was on sale, I jumped at it. Received it in a few days - thanks Prime! - well packaged in a nice cardboard box. Taking it out, and having the batteries in it (two AA alkaline) took less than 2 minutes. Along with the Laser Level and its case, a tripod was included with a standard 1/4-20 mounting screw so it would work on my other lasers too. A pretty straight forward laser - no bells and whistles or extra features (which one never really uses anyway) to bog you down when using it, a simple unlock slide switch and on/off switch. There are two modes with this laser - manual and self leveling. The manual mode, you keep the laser head locked and this allows you to work with off plumb and off level angles - great if you are hanging pictures up a stairwell. The other mode is self leveling, the laser head plumbs and levels itself and if it is off kilter and can't level correctly the laser will tell you by flashing the laser lines to get your attention. Nice feature to have. The lines are a nice crisp green with no fuzziness (brightly lite room no less) even out past 10 feet or so, working from the center of a large room would be doable. In intial use, I didn't get a chance to run it long enough to tell if the battery life will meet the advertised 6 hours, however, I would presume it would be close since the batteries (rechargeable though) in their other lasers do hit their marks. The small form factor along with the smaller tripod will fit perfectly in my tool bag.All in all, first impressions? 5 out of 5. Simply because you get a great laser at an even greater price. Lots of bang for your buck here. Perfect for the DIY who won't need a laser level all the time, but when the time comes they'll have a reliable one ready.Pros:Small form factorTripod IncludedIP54 RatedInstantly User FriendlyCons:No bag for tripod and laser togetherNo built in Rechargeable battery.

Good for DIY, definitely not PRO
Pros: Great price, comes with a (very) small tripod and includes 2 AA batteries. Green laser was very easy to see. Simple to operate.Cons: I was trying to project a level line across a 12” wall at about 86” height from 15 feet away. The self-leveling feature only works at the height the laser level device is sitting at and I had no decent stable way to get it to that height. No way to secure it to the wall at the desired height either. I used the “locked” mode and tilted the tripod up at the wall, but had to manually try and adjust the tripod get the line level and never, ever could. Beyond frustrating.I’m willing to admit my lack of experience with laser levels and I probably purchased one that couldn’t do what I wanted to do. But after this experience, I would only use this laser level for DIY projects at a relatively close distance and only when you can position it at exactly the height you need a level line at. I would not recommend it for professional construction or highly accurate measurements.
