Good series.......just one issue
This is a great anime, just like the first series. Great characters, funny story and nice fan service (for those of you who like that sort of thing). I would of given this five stars, however, the reason I only gave it four stars is because although it says that the dvds are region 1&2, they did not work on any of my dvd players. I would of sent it back, but I had already purchased a multi regional blue ray player, so I just kept it. Still a great product though

Brilliant Series, one small problem
To start with the series itself, it is simply brilliant continuing season 1's sublime humour, introducing amusing new characters and focusing more on character development than season 1.However both the blu-ray's and Dvd's are region 1 locked despite the box stating that they are region 2. But if you have a multi-region player like myself you are on for a real treat.

Funnier Than the First Season!
NOTE: Updated with the region coding for Season 2 Anime Classic Blu-ray & DVD Combo. Originally done July 26th. Updated August 31st.The first season was funny this was even funnier. Forte get's things done right, and better's itself.STORYThe story for season 2 is an improvement from season 1. While the series still focuses on the jokes than the plot this season often has a bigger focus on the plot, and brings out more plot devices as well as character development. There's more interesting thing's in this season to entertain people in different ways than there was in the last season, but this takes the ridiculousness even further.CHARACTERSOut of the whole series there's only two new characters. The rest of the series focuses on character development between the other characters, as well as learning the names of characters that weren't mentioned in the first season.First off we have Astraea, an Angeliod who is following her masters orders to kill Tomoki. She is a dangerous, and powerful, opponent but because of how powerful she is the flaw in her design is that she's kind of stupid. Finally we have Chaos, the main villain in this season.ANIMATION & SOUNDIn terms of animation it is no different than the first season, though the fight scenes in this series are more impressive than the first. There's also a little twist on the first seasons opening which is focused on, and sung by, Tomoki. It is a funny opening that I recommend people watch, but watch the original opening first so that you know what they changed. The dub cast from the first season returns for this season-if you want to know who's in it look at my review of season 1 or Google it-along with the new addition of Carli Mosie (Akira Yoshi in Baka and Test, and Wilhelmina Carmel in Funimation's dub of Shakugan No Shana) as Astraea, and Carrie Savage (Junko Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as Chaos.OVERALLThis season is better than the first season and it really does add more to the series, as well as the amount of jokes. I still give this a recommendation to stream, but if own or liked the first season then you might as well buy this. Here's a little warning if you do want to buy this; Funimation has recently had this thing of if there's a Blu-ray/DVD combo then they wont do a standard DVD version most of the time. So if you don't have a Blu-ray player you wont be able to play the DVD's as they are region 1 only, but if you have multi-region DVD player then you should be fine. If you have a Blu-ray player then you'll be fine since the Blu-ray discs are region free, if you have a multi-region Blu-ray player then even the DVD's will work. Keep this in mind though; season 1 is region free on Blu-ray and so is the movie, but season 2 is region locked and can't be played over here. There is a DVD version of season 2, but keep in mind that there is an Anime Classics release coming out on August 12th that should be a little bit cheaper as well as come with both DVD and Blu-ray. Thank's to blu-ray.com I can confirm that the DVD's of the Anime Classic version are region 2, but the Blu-ray disc's seem to be region locked, or so it say's on the back of the box.
