Started off well
I appreciate this person’s perspective. But she tries to hard to appease a certain crowd that feels they cannot generalize between boys and girls. Ya can! They are “generally” different. They have different brains etc I put it down when it got into wavy gravy area.

Great Read!
This book is so inspirational, as a parent, u realize ur not so far off track , ur just given a way to receive & give conversation ,in a way u & ur teen (bonus ,even pre teen ) can connect on. I’m still in the process of reading this book, but it’s been a long x since I’ve looked forward to picking up a book x & x again to read. We can’t go wrong when buying this book because we never have enough tips for parenting ; especially these days ! Enjoy a great read!

Helpful in understanding this particular difficult time in a child's life.
I liked its compassionate approach to this age level. Even though a great grandmother, I found I still learned.

Great context and specific tips around language to try
I really loved this book, having appreciated some of the podcast episodes. The book gives some great ideas on ways to approach having a better relationship with my teens. I feel better equipped with an understanding of how teenage brains are developing and how that translates to their behaviour.

Don’t judge a book by its cover, I guess.
I was very surprised to receive a book with no cover, not even a book jacket. All it has is this ugly sticker with the bar code that I can’t even peel off for fear of wrecking the cover. But, I’m sure that just like her other books, this will be a true hit as well. That being said, I do not think that I will pre-order anything with Amazon anymore. Had I waited to order it as it was released I’m sure I would’ve gotten a prettier book.

Actually an engaging and interesting read, humorous and not preachy. Adolescent psychological development is clearly and simply explained, and straightforward advice given on how to support.
