because who doesn't love Avocado? And who doesn't love ranch
Hidden Valley has been around for so long and they are the brand that you would find in everyone's fridge. It doesn't even matter if you're low income, high income.. we're all the same when buying that bottle of ranch! ;)There's a new flavor on the block though, it's Avocado Ranch. I was very excited to try this out, because who doesn't love Avocado? And who doesn't love ranch? You put the two together, that just sounds really amazing! So after trying it on a few items, I was pretty disappointed. My overall consensus is that it's just OK. Blindfold me and I wouldn't have been able to tell that there's suppose to be avocado in there. :(Please redo the sauce and add more avocado!

Tangy and Mild
This set of Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing (2 bottles) w Avocado flavored ranch dressing (1 bottle), is a bounty pack, if your family enjoys the flavor of Ranch. In my mind, Hidden Valley Ranch is the great standard from which ranch dressing can be compared, and the mildly creamy and lightly tangy flavor complements almost all foods from salads and vegetables to fries to sandwiches and fish. These dressings are a fantastic dip for crudites, tater tots, poppers and savory finger foods, and i also use them in place of mayo in my sandwich rollups (see pic), or in place of tartar sauce when I feel like it. I pretty much think you can use ranch on any savory food, as it doesn't mask flavors and just adds a creamy acidic tang- brightening up and enhancing mouthfeel and taste.I tried the avocado and regular ranch flavors side by side, and find the avocado to have a "green vegetable" taste (as you'd expect), and a milder tang compared to the regular ranch, but I am not tasting avocado per se, which is itself fairly mild tasting. The flavor of the Avocado dressing is a more ambiguous green veg flavor- a bit grassy, a bit celery-like, or even like a hint of kale. This isn't a bad thing, it just is slightly different. I actually prefer the avocado flavor, as it's richer and more interesting than the bright and neutral ranch. Still, even the avocado clearly tastes like ranch, and most people would probably not be able to tell the difference if they didn't try them side by side. All in all, Hidden Valley has winners in these dressings, which are simple and mild enough to be enjoyed by even the youngest taste buds, and neutral enough to be a great addition to many foods.

Good value on a consistent dressing
Most folks know already if they prefer Hidden Valley Ranch dressing to the competition (mainly Ken's). If not, you should try it because it's really quite good. Sweeter than many ranch dressings, a good creamy consistency, and with a strong ranch flavor.I like Hidden Valley because it has enough flavor that you can get away with using a smaller amount on your salad. In that way, it's probably healthier than other options, but if you use the same serving size, it has more carbs. I think most people realize by now that salad dressing is a great thing in moderation, if it makes your healthy salads palatable and enjoyable, and a bad thing in extreme, adding a lot of calories to your diet. Nothing on the label strikes me as radical or unhealthy, but of course this isn't the nature's most simple dressing either. The Avocado flavor is new to me. it's not like Chick-Fil-A's version, which has cumin. Hidden Valley's is simply a sweet ranch with a strong avocado flavor. I like it, but I tried adding a little cumin and that was also very good. It adds a little variety either way, and I think this is a terrific salad dressing flavor. It's perfect on fish tacos or a salad with a lot of protein on it. I can't see it offending anyone's taste. It's a pretty reasonable value for a delivery of this much dressing. Just remember you can add a little spice to this sort of dressing to better compliment what you're eating.

The original ranch is delicious and the avocado is just ranch with a Twist
The best trick I found for getting my kids to eat there carrots, celery, cucumbers and tomatoes are to either have them dip it in balsamic glaze or in ranch. Each of my children prefer different things. I've never tried the Hidden Valley Ranch before and it's delicious. It's nice and rich and creamy and these bottles are huge so they'll definitely last for quite a while. I tried the avocado ranch and I like that on my salad. My girls are a little more partial to the original but they are not avocado lovers either. The avocado flavor does not stand out tremendously but you can taste it a little bit. It doesn't transform it, you can definitely tell it's still ranch but it does have that little extra avocado something. There is a recipe for ranch parmesan chicken on the back of the bottle and I am excited to make it tonight, it looks yummy. Overall, it taste great!
