Tal cual como en la primera serie animada, muy buenos detalles, aunque tuve ciertos problemas con la cabeza al tratar de reemplazarla, nada que no tenga solución, los accesorios son geniales

I was really looking forward to this figure. The original 80s crimson guard was my very first GI Joe figure, and while he has long since been lost, I am so happy he has returned as a Classified figure. For the most part, my figures are great on the paint apps where they count, like the unit insignia, rank pips, sleeve patch, and Cobra symbol on his chest; even the silver piping and buckles are pretty good. My only problem is unfortunately a big one: there is a huge black paint splotch on one guard's helmet. I may get brave enough to try to remove it with acetone, but maybe it's a safer bet to buy him again on the next wave. He comes with a lot of accessories, such as a black backpack with straps sculpted everywhere, even the back. The silver logo on the backpack is nicely punched in. His rifle has a detachable box magazine, and I may be wrong but his rifle appears to be based on an AR-10 battle rifle (straight box magazines are usually 7.62mm, and that was what the AR-10 was chambered for). The magazine has a cut to fit a specific way into the rifle's magazine well. The permanently fixed bayonet is painted well, but the rifle is going to need help with a hair dryer because it's pretty bent, for both Guardsmen. The rifle pegs onto the backpack via a peg that goes through the trigger guard, and I found it pegs in best with the magazine facing inwards. The pistol looks like it's based off of a high-end 1911 and it fits well into the holster. The knife looks nice but I would've preferred a dagger-type blade like the Cobra officer carries; the saw teeth on the back of the knife might make sense for field operations, but these guys are just not dressed for that. The ceremonial sword is a great touch for this figure, and its scabbard can be pegged to either the backpack or the left side of the belt. Both knife and sword have snake head pommels. The sword scabbards are both really bent, just like the rifles. Lastly, both pistols and rifles can accept blast effect accessories. As for articulation, there are a few hindrances. It is most of the same, but the feet are by and far the worst offenders. Even with hot water to help loosen the ankles, they are really tight and movement is limited, and standing him can be a chore, especially with the backpack on. The sleeves really hinder the hands thanks to this triangular formation off of the cuff, and even though the hands are both vertically hinged, their range is hampered thanks to how deeply buried they are into the sleeve cuffs. I had issues with joints in the knees and elbows on both figures that got pretty loose by the second pose. Once you stick a pose it seems to hold, but don't be surprised when he starts flopping like a noodle. I do love the figure, but it somehow just misses being a home run like the alley vipers or Cobra troopers. He still deserves 5 stars, and I'm looking forward to buying more when the next wave comes in.
