Great door!
We placed the pet screen door at one of our windows. It works great and it blends beautifully with the window’s screen. We have been using it for just about over a week, and it has worked well so far. My 16 lbs cat fits through it perfectly, and the pet screen door seems quite sturdy. When we measured where to place it, we decided to put it slightly lower than the instructions, just for the way the window is situated. Installing it was fairly easy , although cutting screen is always a pain :). We are so happy with it that I just bought another one to install on another window. My husband was very skeptical about this product at first and really didn’t think it would work, but he was completely surprised and he thinks it is a surprisingly efficient, nice and well functioning product

Solid Dog Door; Easy Install and Seems Durable
I bought the larger door though my dog is only around 25 lbs. She really bolts for the door so I wanted to make sure I had enough space for her to get through the door without breaking the screen. This door really fits the bill. I haven't really used the door locks yet, partially because I fear having my dog bang into it when I don't expect her to try to go out. This door was easy to install and is durable though fairly lightweight. I thought it would weigh heavy on my screen but it sits nicely and has a tight seal that protects the rest of the screen. The directions were not super-clear but this is fairly simple to install; not a lot to it. It seems fairly durable; I've had it about a month and it seems solid and my dog has gone through it at a very high rate of speed without impacting the door's performance or ripping the screen. The door locks seem a bit delicate so I'd wonder how they'd hold up under frequent use (lock/unlock/lock) but so far so good. I also like how there is a magnet to prevent endless swinging. I am really pleased with this purchase. Though purchased for a 'bigger' dog it has a small footprint and blends nicely with the door.

Much cheaper alternative than a factory installed pet door
We installed this PetSafe door on a brand new screen door before we hung our new screen door onto our house. This was fairly easy to install since we installed it while our new vinyl screen door was not yet installed and we could lay it flat on the patio. It would be very difficult to install without the screen door lying flat. The grooves inside the PetSafe door frame half made it easy to run a blade through our screen door’s screen fabric to cut out the rectangular opening needed for the PetSafe door. The screen fabric inside the swinging door is the screen fabric from PetsSafe and not from our screen door yet it matches ours well. We had to line up one half of the PetSafe door frame on one side of the screen with the other half of the PetSafe door frame placed on the opposite side of the screen and then hammer the halves together to fit closed with the screen fabric between them. We had to hammer the rubber mallet around the circumference maybe 10 times or so before we got all gaps to close between the front and back sides of the Petsafe door frame around the nylon screen hole we cut out. The PetSafe door hinge swings the PetSafe door freely and easily with no real resistance. The lock feature locks either both directions of the swing or just one direction depending on how we set it. We installed it so the pegs of the lock have to be set while standing outside and we’re not sure if that’s a mistake or not, but as we are not likely to need it, that doesn’t matter to us. Now and then we see gaps between the two sides of the frame open up that we pinch closed again. We didn’t use any glues between the frame halves and we weren’t instructed to, but if the frames start having trouble staying pinched together that will be our backup plan. While it appears the PetSafe door is resting on the frame of our screen door, it isn’t. It is lined up near it and is just hanging onto the screen fabric. It really saved us money to install this onto a new screen door ourselves rather than buying a screen door with a pet door already built into it. Our 2 cats got used to it in a couple days and they love it. We are very pleased with this purchase. ¡Update! - around 2 weeks after installing it, our active kitten charged through the door and knocked it off the screen so I knocked a star off our rating. We went to our backup plan and put glue gel in the track side of the frame and, while the screen door was still on its hinges, we lined up both sides of this frame (one person on either side of the door) and squeezed it closed around the screen hole it had been on. We couldn’t get it completely squeezed tightLy together around the 4 sides of this pet door frame because the screen door was vertical. I am sure we could have done better if we’d taken it down and laid it horizontal but we’re hoping with the glue it will be good enough to hold. so far so good, it still looks nice and operates well.

Quick easy install
Had to re-screen the door to the screen house my Dad and I built 30+ years ago and this was a really cheap way to add a cat door. Worked out very well. Would have liked some selective security but just needed basic access. This door is cheap and works well, I like it a lot.

Worth the money, the nicest looking doggy door for its price, but clasping the frame was hard
- this is the only option doggy door that can be installed directly to the sliding door screen (I guess window too if you have cats), I got other more expensive ($160) option in the past that requires removing part of the screen, rolled it back to the gutter, and drill directly to the door. The installation of it is so much easier compare to other one. Of course it’s not as solid, pretty- but for what it’s worth, I think it’s good enough. My two dogs are small, so the small door was sufficient and not dragging down the screen door and make it flimsy. - installation instruction was a joke, but there are videos available. It’s hard to tell where to cut since both my screen and frame are both black. Also they slide around a lot. It’s also very difficult to get the two frames to clicked, it took me a frustrated 30 min- even closing the two frames on its own was not easy, let along laying it flat with a stretchy screen. That was very frustrating. - I didn’t use the screw provided. Once I hammer the frames together, didn’t look super secure but I prayed it works… cause I tried the screw and it broke the plastic frame. Maybe if I made a pilot hole it would be ok??? But it hasn’t fall apart this far - anyways you get what you paid for. It’s ok

This product is just what you want! Works a Treat!!! 👍 The main issue is installing it on a taunt fly screen, otherwise it will flop around! Good value for the price!👍👍👍

This is my review of the PetSafe Pet Screen Door. Spring is here and once again the pets are wanting out. Then back in, then out................ The screen door is getting quite the workout as is our nerves. I wish PetSafe had this in a medium (was not available, ANYWHERE) size but it works just okay for Fido and Kitty. Install today was super easy and took all of about 15 minutes. Right now we are doing training on the pets with door taped open for them and then once they have that down, the doggy door position comes down too. There may be a bit of a tricky part to the install. If your door screen is nylon, then use a designated groove (see manual) in the frame of the doggy door. However there is a second pictured groove and that is for use if your door screen is metal. Very self explanatory and easy. Recommended. UPDATE: May 17, 2018 The door has required 4 removal/replace to adjust and repair. Today the dog came through all excited (doorbell) and took the door right off the screen! The first install I did was too low despite holding down the cat and dog to measure shoulder height. Lots of scratches later, I had to move the door up 1.5 inches which is now better. I think it is as good as it will be now. UPDATE: June 1, 2018 The door keeps popping out of the screen so will try some tiny bolts I have to retain the door or better yet, install an acrylic piece along the base of the patio screen door to strengthen the whole install. UPDATE: June 19, 2018 HUGE THANKS to fellow reviewer Olivia. It was her review that suggested using screws to clamp the two halves together. The screen door fell apart AGAIN yesterday so got some tiny 6/32 hex nuts and bolts. Drilled a 1/8 inch hole in 6 places around the door and able to tighten it down really well. This will cure the issue.
