Great instructions for a beginner or even someone that has been away from their instrument for a long time.Having the cd made it nice to hear what it should sound like compared to what was being played... as a parent and not a student... that was more helpful to me than my child. I listened in the cd and away from home/in the car, as instructed by the music teacher she asked that we not play it until 80% of the instruction was complete manually. And WOW, by the time we got to that point, the student was allowed to hear it, it was like the lights came on and all the instruction just came together.

A great educational material. The book is easy to use for my 8 year old viola player, the inspiring video recording is well made and very helpful. We also listen to the MP3 tracks in the car. Who would have thought that Wohlfahrt studies could be so much fun to learn!

This book has improved my counting, bowing, and accuracy in Viola. If you enjoy playing the Viola and want to get even better, by this book. It has a great selection of different Etudes that start easy and get more difficult. Buy this book!

It arrived a day early!! So that's always a plus. It does come with all 60 etudes, so don't worry about it being the version with only 30 etudes for book 1 and the other 30 for book 2--it's all here. HOWEVER, there is one major flaw in one of the pieces in this book. #20 (Op.45 No. 22) was written for violins!!! I can clearly see that the lowest note for this piece reads as an open G for violins. The editor failed to translate it from treble clef to alto clef! I hope that your copy of this book does not have this flaw. It is such a nuisance to have to translate it myself.
