Low Voltage Blues
I've been having some problems with my electricity for quite some time, misreading things as to what was causing the problems eg late night playing a DVV/blu-ray, there were several jumps in a row although the disk was clean. The DVD recorders would switch settings in a random manner, the laptop in sleep mode in the middle of the night would suddenly have its fan on full. The anti-surge protection didn't help but as it seemed to be affecting CPUs, it did suggest low voltage problems and, a little investigation, found this device. With it in place and the anti-surge multi-sockets on top, everything went back to normal. It was that startling. The laptop in sleep mode could even download W11 updates with the fan in quiet mode. I should point out that there is also likely to be a problem with the wiring into the meter and you should get your supplier to get an electrican to check that, especially if your smart meter isn't giving any information or the wrong readings to their headquarters. Even so, I'm leaving these VoltGuards in place, I have three, and they are well worth the price.
