Great shoe for running & everyday wear!
I bought these for my adult son, who is a cross-country type runner but with a bad disk in his low back from landing a huge jump in Xtreme Rollerblading. The GT-2000 7 is his 4th or 5th pair of Asics after being fitting for them years ago in the top local Running store, where they let him run around the block in each of their shoes. They also showed us how the top running shoes from specialty sporting goods stores won't twist in the arch, unlike the lower grade versions sold in big box stores.FWIW, I am not a runner, so I do not like the denser foam of the hard core running shoes, and currently wear the plush‐but-supportive Asics Kahuna 8s.With his bad disk, my son was very sensitive to impact, and could tell the difference in the shock absorption of new shoes vs 6 month old. He wears his Asics everywhere since they are so comfortable. They all eventually blow out the fabric on the sides around the pinky toes, even though he has average size feet and weighs around 150 lbs., and the Wides (EE) were too wide for him. Also the soles would get slick and slippery for running outside on the trails or where dirt washes across the paved paths when it rains. I tried to have him wear the new pair just for running and the old for 'everyday about town' wear, but that was fruitless since the new shoes always look a lot nicer. The black and white '7s look fantastic with everything and do not show dirt like the light or obnoxiously bright colors. One thing I have noticed is that some Asics models do not have adequate toe protection, and those need to be avoided. On Amazon, one can pick from several generations and find a GT-2000 that is well made and a decent color for around $90‐$120. That is better than our local Running store, once we discovered all they ever did was put him in the newest model of the same shoe, and often the in-stock color selection sucked. Paying full retail for an ugly color also sucked. So my best recommendation is if you are a runner who wears out a pair of running shoes every year, when you find a shoe you really like at a good price, buy 2 or 3 pairs. The shoe techonology does not change that much and the new plastic rubbers do not oxidize, yellow, & break down with time like the older natural latex-based rubbers (and foams) used in older or cheaper running and gym shoes.

Dream Shoe for Over-pronation
I’ve been running for a decade with a vicious over-pronation and I NEED a running shoe with arch support that stands up to frequent use. This is it.In the past 6 years I have not owned a pair of running shoes that wasn’t an ASICS GT series. I can’t speak for the wide shoes but the width of the regular fit 10.5 hugs the foot nicely without being too tight or chafing and seems to be a true 10.5. There’s just enough room in the toe box where my foots not jamming in the end of the shoe with every step but not too much of a gap. I use this shoe with no issue on both paved roads and woods trails with varying grade. This running shoe is good to go!

Supportive and Light
I have worn Asics' running shoes of various types for over a decade, and this version is true to the quality and function I've come to expect. The shoes are true to size and provide excellent support for road running. They are extremely light and breathe well. The only caveat I can provide about this model is in the tread durability. I've worn a pair for about 350 miles of runs on asphalt and pavement, and the soles are wearing more rapidly than some of the earlier models. They may not make my typical 450 mile cut off for replacement.

Good, comfortable shoe
I've used Asics for several years in running. The key difference with this version from last year is the added outer wear protection. Last year's had a simple mesh that wore very quickly, however, this years could easily take scuffs without issue around the toe box. I originally got these for running, but found out that I'm better suited for the NB 880s. But, these Asics are very comfortable and cushioned to wear for daily tasks/walking so I use them as my daily shoe.

Very Comfortable!
I use these as walking shoes. Before I bought them I used a tennis (as in the game) shoe and found I was getting blisters on my toes. These ASICS are much lighter than the tennis shoes and have more room in the toe area to avoid the blister problem. I would say they are most useful in linear activities like walking or running for that reason. They might not be as useful in lateral activities like tennis or basketball. They are so good and comfortable that this is the second pair I bought recently (as a spare pair)!

Terrific Addition to the Asics GT 2000 Series
I've been wearing Asics GT 2000 running shoes for years and have always found they suited my running style and mileage very well. But after the middling-to-poor reviews that the GT 2000 6 series garnered, I was concerned: had the GT 2000 series run its course? I'm happy to report it hasn't, not at least by the evidence of the GT 2000 7. The shoes feels lighter than the previous entries in the series, but its support, especially in the heel box, is superb. The front of the shoe also does a very good and very noticeable job of distributing the force of my foot hitting the running surface. The shoe is also stylish--I bought mine in black/white--with flexible meshing around the front. I was nervous about the purchase--but I shouldn't have been. Terrific shoe.
