This works exactly as expected. My 2012 Audi didn’t come with a dipstick—apparently Audi decided to rely entirely on electronic sensors. Sensors are fine… until they fail and turn into a very expensive problem. I’m old school and want a physical dipstick I can trust.

my daughters Audi did not come with a dipstick originally. everything was done via electronic everything, including checking the oil. The only problem I have with this electronic method is that the engine must be running in order to check the oil level. I purchased this dipstick to ensure I could check the engine oil when the engine was off and cold. The "full level" on the dipstick is a little low. I had put new oil in the car and the dipstick showed just a hair over full. Keep in mind this is before the engine was turned on and the oil filter had yet to be filled. will check again when the engine is complete and running again. if there is change I will update this posting.
