Grab thunder
As i was chalking up i could feel the power of Chalkness Monster coursing through my veins. I looked at my barbell and said, "it's about to go down." When i grabbed hold of that sucker i heard it wince it pain. I was slinging plates like they were weightless. After 30min my barbell cried, "bro, can we take a break? this sh*+ hurts!" And I was like, "shut up barbell!" Needless to say, I left that barbell sobbing like a baby when i was finally done.True story.

Chalk or flour?
I've given this chalk a week to grow on me; it has not. I purchased a full pound of this stuff and I'm afraid it's all going to go straight in the trash. When I opened the box I noticed that most of the individually packaged bricks we're already smashed or cracked. No big deal, I figured they were probably just handled a bit rough in shipping. It turns out, though, that this is the most brittle, crumbly, least chalk-y chalk that I have ever encountered. Most chalk sticks to your hands, this does not, most chalk holds together, this does not, most chalk gives a good friction grip, this does not. I have to admit, I'm a bit convinced that this is some sort of pressurized flour / baby powder mix. If I use it for my sweaty hands in the gym it functions more as a dredging than a drying agent. Chalk is to help you grab ahold of things, not to make your grip worse.

Works Great!
I have a crossfit gym in my garage in south Florida. Safe to say it gets hot even at 6am. This chalk is pretty inexpensive and worked great this morning while I did a workout that combined a bar movement and running. This is perfect if your are doing a work out where using gloves or straps doesn't work or if you are working on grip strength. Crossfit is all about grip strength so this is perfect in place of the straps I normally use on heavier bar lifts.

Weight lifting - Lasts for yearsss
I love this chalk! I use it mainly for my compound lifts like deadlifts, squats, & bench. It definitely helps with my grip. I can do so much weight on deadlifts now because I can have a good grip. Before 205 would slip off on the end of the 4th rep but now I can deadlift 235x5 and it won't slip halfway through a rep! My palms get super sweaty so this defineitly has helped. It's not too messy either. I believe this chalk will last me a long time, probably half a year or maybe even a full year. :) Okay I lied, so almost a year later I have only used 2 blocks. I crushed it into an empty container and I lost one at the gym so I had to open up a second block. This thing comes with 8 so I probably won’t need to buy chalk in years to come.

Crumbly cakes
Agreed with Mikael Dillon Sink, this chalk does not function as it needs to. Ours arrived in fine condition but once we opened it, the chalk just crumbles but not enough into a powder that you would expect chalk to do. Trying to rub it on hands is almost impossible since it's like rubbing rocks on your hands. What's interesting is that we used this brand a year ago and it was fine. Seems like something changed in their process or it just went "bad" if that's possible.

Great chalk! Great price!
Admittedly, I haven't bought a lot of chalk in the past, but I am nothing but pleased with this. I use it when lifting, climbing, and doing various parkour, calisthenics, and ninja-style training and competition. I use it almost daily and it seems like I haven't even made a dent in the pound after approx. 6 months.

Average
When the package first arrived, I was like "oh, they forgot the chalk ball!". No, turns out it was inside the zip lock pouch, and some mess later, I had it in my chalk bag. However, my chalk bag is kinda small, so I decided I'd better empty out some chalk from the ball. I go to do that, and as soon as I touch the drawstring, it breaks. Very low quality.... I'm starting to get pretty annoyed, but I manage to empty some of the chalk ball back into the ziplock, and I tie the drawstring on the chalk ball shut. Then I go to chalk up, and find that only a tiny dusting of chalk will actually stick to my hands. As another reviewer put it, it was like flour. I was about to give the product 1 star, but I went climbing today and once my hands got slightly sweaty the chalk did begin to come out of the chalk ball and stick to my hands like normal. Not sure why it wasn't sticking initially. So, the chalk itself is average, as far as I can tell.Considering I bought this product specifically because of the refillable bag, and the drawstring broke on first use, I'm going to go with 3 stars. I'm not angry about my purchase (like I initially was), but I don't think I'd recommend it to friends.

It's Fine
I've only been climbing for a year, so I'm probably not experienced enough to judge the merits of one type of chalk over another. This works for me though! The bag is not as permeable as I thought it would be, and I actually now leave a little opening in it instead of cinching it all the way, to allow some chalk to spill out into the bottom of my chalk bag, and I grab a little of that instead of the ball when I'm climbing. I guess that's still better than totally loose chalk.
