Unpackaged Substrate, Great enrichment!
The media could not be loaded. This is David, He’s having a great time with the unpackaged substrate, I’m sure he rates it 10/10. Haven’t tried the substrate itself yet but seems great, especially for the low price!

Very good
I have a snake in a 50g tank and I was able to fill the tank up with just half and save the rest for next time I cleaned. It also holds moisture well, and my snake likes to burrow in it.

The Coconut Chips that Exceed Expectations as a Substrate for our Scaly Friends
Thats a big Brick! I seen the photos and read the product description and it looked like deal. I needed a lot but I only got one since this was my first time getting this brand and that if I liked it I could order more rather than get stuck with coconut chips I didn't like. Box arrived and I wasn't sure what it what was dues to its size however when I opened it, it was not what I expected. This is a lot more than I was expecting, then I thought well they must not have compressed it like my old brand. Wrong again, it expands the same, if not more than my usual type.It is also not as sharp or as slivery and edges are soft (not too spongy though) so not to irritate my scaly friend. If he could talk I am sure he would approve as well. Fortunately I only used about half of it otherwise I would had about 5-times too much from the amount I needed. I did end up applying a few inches deeper due to ending up with much more than normal which he appears to like, he is definitely a more active digger now. It works extremely well in maintaining and retaining the humidity in his habitat. It works well for spot cleaning areas where he has left his "gifts" thanking my for the food.Overall, Riare Coconut Chips has exceeded my expectations and is new my goto product for coconut chip substrate. 5- Stars

Very rough grind, perfect for raised bed gardens
I use coco coir for a number of different gardening activities. This particular coco coir was used to help breakup some clay soils used in a raised bed garden. The rougher grind coir mixes well with the soils and helps aerate the soil for better root development. I meant to take a picture of the coir in the cart after I'd added the water but, being 70 years old, I forgot. It expanded to approx 10 times its dry size. Downgraded one star due to cost, it's a bit higher that other, similar, coco coir I've purchased. Overall a very good product for its, my, intended purpose.

Using it for mulch. Looks great. Compact.
To get an idea of how much it expands, you can take a look at my before and after photos. Note in the after photo, the block had not completely expanded. I kept breaking it up and adding water and there was still more to go at the time I took the picture.I'm very happy using these coconut chips as mulch/ground cover. This looks fantastic around and under my rose bushes. I'm confident that it will, over time, blend with my topsoil and add nutrients to the soil.I'm not clear on how much one should pay for a product like this, but it seems to be priced competitively.
