Legal Guide for Starting & Running a Small Business Paperback – May 9, 2023

Ordered this book for a girl in confinement, she is studying thru it, told her to let me know her opinion when she is finished with the book. She is very interested , said she would recomment it.Will try to post an update when/if I hear back from her.

NOLO is one of the most reliable and trusted resources for legal guidance. You just can't go wrong by picking up one of their books. They always do a thorough job explaining things and the templates making drafting vital documents very easy.

In business, you must always have what you need to be successful. Buying this book has helped me to help my business become stronger. As a retail business, and bow tie company, it is hard when I work alone and run my business because I have to do " everything " from the main products, the website, the books and etc but having this book is almost like having a sectary and a group of staff helping but instead is all me, and is okay because I have thing book. So if you work alone and are alone in business. This book is ready to be in your hands to help your business.

The book itself seems easily readable (although I have only barely looked at it). More wondering why I had to question if I had ordered a used version when it looked like this …

The guide measures about 8½” wide, 11” tall, and just under 1” thick. It’s a beautiful step-by-step book of lessons, with pages that are just a tad on the thin side; it has a semi-thick, durable, and flexible softcover, and a sturdy glued spine. The wording is mostlyClear to read, however, a bit grayer in color versus black, I prefer rich black color; although the font size is on the small side and may challenge those readers who need a little assistance surrounding reading the words on the creamy colored pages. I think it’s a high-quality book, both in content and physically.Why was this published?It’s about following one’s dreams, in this instance, small business ownership. It’s also about learning the basics, from giving the pros and cons of ownership, to closing on a purchase. This book is very useful for me as someone that has been thinking about starting a business. I actually already have a small business but not in the way where I have a company name set up and all that legal stuff. This book has laid out this information in a much more digest-able way. It can get very confusing just starting off when you are deciding if your company should be set up as an LLC, sole proprietorship, corporation, etc., which is why I have been putting it off for so long and unsure of which direction I was going to take. I don't have any mentors in real life or family members that know much about the legal aspects of starting a business so this book has been a tremendous help. Now that I have all this information, all I have to do is put it in action and apply the information that I learned. You should obviously still try to do research outside of this book such as getting more information online and perhaps even talking to real people and mentors that can walk you through all this and give you even more in depth information not necessarily covered in this book. For anyone that has no clue like how I was before I read this book, get this book and I can say with confidence you will learn so much of the basics. This is a great place to start for any one thinking about starting (and running) a small business. I also recommend looking into other NOLO guides, they have so many different books that cover a variety of topics in business and beyond. I will happily get more books from them.
