Herbal, non-antibiotic solution to wound management
I was introduced to this product many years ago by someone who, due to health reasons, was trying to go "all natural." I tried it once and have never gone back. It works like a triple antibiotic, but is all natural and works. I've used it on small scrapes , gouges from pet toenails, friction rough-ups, infected bug bites, deeper cuts, and for me it works like an antibiotic to stop infection and speed healing. I have found that healing is faster with this product that with Neosporin, a commercial antibiotic cream or ointment. I've had no side effects from it, and I find that it speeds healing. I've used it on myself as well as on dogs and cats, all with similar results. It has no flavoring, so dogs and cats don't try to lick it off. I've seen it work well on pet skin scrapes and even hot spots. I'm a huge fan and will always have it my house.

Sent wrong item, but still worked out
I ordered the first aid gel and was sent the silver spray. Kept it because I'll use it, but I will have to reorder the gel. Fortunately, the box actually came with a sample size of the gel, so I have been able to use it. I'm pleased with the gel, it's a nice consistency and stays where you put it, and seems to work well. I definitely will keep some on hand. For what it's worth, I've been using this on my cat. She has been licking her legs to the point of getting patches where there is no fur, and the skin is raw. I've had her at the vet a couple of times, and we've discussed possible issues, including allergies. I've switched to a different litter, and have been cleaning her spots and applying this gel, which seems to be helping. Her legs are looking better, she's not licking as much, and yesterday she was back to her usual zoomie, happy, energetic self. I'm calling it a win!

Another great silver hydrosol (Sovereign Silver) product!
I love the oral sovereign silver - it has helped me avoid or recover quickly from various sicknesses. So I bought this thinking it would help with my wife's shingles (shingles is what you get when chicken pox go dormant in your body and when you are older they are somehow revived except instead of chicken pox you get shingles - it's the same virus but a different set of symptoms and problems). So these "shingles" manifest as what they call blisters but my wife's look more like huge under-the-skin pimples (though a doctor diagnosed her as having shingles for sure), I'm just saying my wife's don't look like the way the are described on some online sites. But I digress...The point is that I have learned to have faith in silver hydrosol so I bought this to hopefully help heal my wife's shingles "blisters".Well, I applied it like I'd been applying some other ointment, with a popsicle stick, and the first thing that happened was she said it burned. I was surprised at this, as the silver hydrosol I take and sometimes rub on my skin does not burn at all, it's basically just water with silver particles in it. So I noted that it burned and we waited to see if she had any further effects from it.About 3 hours later she said she was getting some burning again which is weird because she's never had any burning sensation from her shingles blisters before.I looked at the ingredients to see what might be causing this. When I saw the listing of ingredients I was surprised to see it has a several ingredients other than silver hydrosol. One ingredient doesn't look so great, others are just unknown (to me) substances. Here is what's in it:Argentum metallicumIt says in parenthesis "(metallic silver)" and lists it as homeopathic. But below it lists as INACTIVE INGREDIENTS:silver hydrosol(Huh?! I thought this was a silver hydrosol product! Why does it say it's only an inactive ingredient here?)Carbopol - looked this up at Environmental Working Group's site and it says there is insufficient data on this. Weird.Sodium hydroxide - EWF rates this as a 3 on the 10 point danger scale, and says this:"Other MODERATE concerns: Organ system toxicity (non-reproductive); Other LOW concerns: Irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs), Occupational hazardsAbout SODIUM HYDROXIDE: Sodium Hydroxide is a highly caustic and reactive inorganic base.Function(s): Denaturant; pH Adjuster; BUFFERINGSynoym(s): CAUSTIC SODA; CAUSTIC SODA; SODIUM HYDROXIDE; SODIUM HYDROXIDE; SODIUM HYDRATE; SODIUM HYDROXIDE (NA (OH) ) ; SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION; CAUSTIC SODA; HYDROXYDE DE SODIUM (FRENCH) ; LEWIS-RED DEVIL LYE; NATRIUMHYDROXID (GERMAN) ; NATRIUMHYDROXYDE (DUTCH) ; SODA LYE"Jeez, this stuff is CAUSTIC! NO WONDER IT MADE HER SORES BURN! Why the heck would they put something caustic in a gel designed to treat sores, cuts, burns??Weird.[NOTE: See the comment below my review by CritterCarer re sodium hydroxide.]However, this stuff seemed to help her. Between using this and the oral Sovereign Silver (not sure if one or the other or both worked) her case of shingles was one of the lightest I have read about. Almost all the accounts I read of shingles sounded horrible. By comparison my wife's were very mild. I attribute it to Sovereign Silver.I also used this on athlete's foot (toes) and it went away - this was after I'd used a popular powder for 2 days with zero success.I now use this stuff on anything and everything.I do recommend it! I just want people to realize that it does have other ingredients in it, some of which are not ideal in my opinion. Nevertheless it seems to work, and that's what counts!

Does this stuff expire? Or have a shelf life expectancy?
