This is a review for KIMISS Waterhouse Assy Distributor Water Distributor Housing Assy with Manual Drain Plugs 863631T1 863802T2 Replacement for Mercruiser Inboard Engine + Car I am not sure it has anything to do with "+ Car". I have so far not installed it. I will install it tomorrow and see how it works out. So far it looks just like the original and appears well made. The price was right too. I just wanted to post this review so that people can get immediate feedback on a WEIRDNESS. I mean, oh my god, what are they thinking when they do this sort of thing? The oddity is that the threads for the drain plug are NONSTANDARD. This is a real issue. The Mercruiser plugs don't last forever---on my boat, I seem to replace them every other year or so. The plastic plugs often break in the thread and I wind up needing to re-tap the thread. I have a set of SAE taps/screw removers/thread chasers just for this purpose. The normal Mercury plugs are 1/2-13 UNC x 1/2 long (as far as I can tell). The normal plugs won't fit here. The threads on this thing are M12x1.75mm x 10mm. Each distributor is sent with two plugs. What are you meant to do after those are bad? Well, any M12 bolt will probably fit. The length is not critical. The bigger issue is probably that if your engine has three plugs, two of them will now be UNC and the last will be M12. Gotta keep 'em straight. My boat has two engines, so now with one new distributor, five UNC and one M12 plug. Ho hum!!!!! WHY OH WHY could they not just make them 1/2-13 UNC so they were compatible???? Totally gratuitous engineering screwup, if you ask me. But yeah the price is right. And I haven't seen that there's any plug in it that doesn't belong. I hope the hoses fit tomorrow! Edit: I now installed it and it fit perfectly. Almost identical to the original Mercury part, except for that stupid thread. The threads could *probably* be tapped for 1/2-13, but I didn't try...
