Easy install/setup and works perfectly, so far
Great product, so easy to setup and so far so good, with Alexa in control no problems.I cut holes behind ceiling light and connected directly to light, then just leave light switch in “on” position and let Alexa do the rest with routines etc. They have a default setting to on, so if there’s some sort of failure, you just go back to using the light switch till you can sort out whatever caused the issue. We’ve even turned lights off at switch (not used to leaving the switch alone yet!) and the wifi connection re-establishes itself quickly so no need to reset anything, just switch the light back on, then ask Alexa to switch it off for you.I’ve now ordered more for other lights, and it’s so much cheaper than buying smart switches to replace all the light switches.

Small and working
I was a bit hesitant about buying this little smart switch as it looked so cheap from the pictures compared to better known brands but actually it works perfect and it is smaller than others. It fits inside a standard light switch altough the back box needed to be 4 cm deep instead of a standard one which is normally 2cm deep. Not being an electrician I needed one to fit this in but this does not need neutral which is rare for this kind of smart switches hence goes with all UK switches. Once powered up it produces a strong beeping noise which is quite loud and there is also a flashing led light. You need to press a small button on it five times to pair it with its app, 'smart life'. Works fab with the app, you can set timer and routines. No need to pay any fee to use it. You can pair with Alexa so you can also control with voice! Good value for money. Highly reccomended!

Product works very well but instructions are difficult to follow.
Excellent product and price with easy wiring for in-line control of various electrical circuits. Would require an electrician if not confident with electrical wiring. Instructions are next to useless and ended up resorting to youtube to find out how to connect to Alexa. Main problem is the a lot of the menu items that the instructions mention do not appear on the app. Once you figure it out it's a 2 minute process to join to Alexa.

Dangerous as supplied
This might be a neat solution to controlling UK lights (which typically don't have a neutral wire available at the switch), but as supplied it is a fire risk. The photo shows the capacitor supplied which is to be wired across the lamp - it is the brown one on the left, and is rated for 400V. But that is 400V DC and although mains should peak at around 350V it is AC and the mains supply is prone to spikes which easily exceed the rating. A failure is a fire risk, and since this would be placed above a lamp holder in the wooden ceiling space, there is a good chance your house might burn down if there is a mains problem (surge, close lightning strike, etc). The yellow capacitor on the right is a safety-rated capacitor (denoted by the yellow colour and 'X2' printed on it). This is what should be supplied because when it fails it won't be a fire risk - that is why it is safety rated. The cost of this capacitor is about 50p and I don't know why it is not supplied instead of the risky inappropriate one (which, itself, isn't cost free).Since they don't care about such an obvious safety feature I wonder what else they don't care about, so elected to return this and find a more appropriate item instead.

Tiny. Better than Sonoff.
Better values and much smaller than the Sonoff ones I’ve used so these fit within a standard 35mm back-box. Can also be passed through a down light hole. Set-up to wifi seems easier too (still only 2.4gHz so make sure you can identify the 2.4gHz as it sometimes has the same SSID as the 5gHz which always used to catch me out with these sort of devices.) Used to avoid complex multiple switch wiring to external lights so they can be controlled via Alexa. Also used to logically ‘group’ garden lights in Alexa, avoiding the need for extra armoured cable runs between them. Highly recommended, good value and extremely useful.

Good but instruction for app could be better
One of the units would turn on for no reason . after a lot of swapping the units round , as I was only using one of them for a pond air pump, I was going to send them back because they would both keep losing any connection to WiFi . I moved the WiFi repeater further away which strangely sorted the problem, it seems that the repeater was having the same effect that a signal blocker has by overloading the unit with too much WiFi at least that's one theory ,the smart link app could do with better instructions but once you have got used to it it works very well up to now it seems to be working well, which makes them good value for money. update , have returned all units as they will not keep any connection to the network but will work with a press of the button and need to be reset to the network .
