No smell to me, and the bonsai is already sending out new leaves.
I was afraid of the smell since my bonsais are indoor, but I don't smell anything except if I sniff them directly. The bonsai is responding to the food too.

Easy to use, no maintenance.
I've been using Biogold for over 10 years with zero issues caused by the product. The 1 star ratings are hilarious. The guy who had his tree perish has a brown thumb, and the other guy gave a one star and doesn't seem to understand mold and pests vs fertilizer, and actually how to remedy the two, so he blamed it on BioGold. 3 Star guy gave it 3 stars because the bag was smaller than he thought, yet the first descriptive text clearly says Size: 280 g / 10 oz.
