I have only had this for a couple days, but I really like it. Some reviews have complained of the smell, but I don;t think its bad. It does have a leather smell, like a new shoe store or western outfiters store, but I think it smells good.It has a nice quality feel to it and the leather and stitching combo look nice.I will try to remember to update this review to let you know how well it holds up, but I expect it to be good just based on how it appears.

I hate buying belts -- they are all so expensive, the color hardly ever matches anything I own, it just seems like a waste of money for what you are getting. I feel differently about this belt. It's thick, I'm sure will last a long time, looks great, and is comfortable around my midsection. Reasonably priced as well.

This is a very solid belt for the $. The only gripe is the strong leather smell. I’ve had it about a month and it’s still very strong.

Just got this belt in black & I’m real happy with it. Out of the box it has a pretty strong leather smell, as others have noted, but I’m fine with it. Perfect fit for me. I’ll probably get another one in brown.

Was trying to get a single hole belt.Totally satisfied with the belt I received.Looks nice and sturdy. I also like the bit of the distressed look.

This belt is well-made and sturdy. Looks great with jeans. Should last for many years.

Prominent leather tanning smell. Too smelly to put in my dresser drawer so hung it on door knob but the smell quickly filled the room. Hung it outside on Nov 3rd. Today is 11/28 - nearly 4 weeks later - several rains - hot sunny days - freezes. I can still smell it when I walk near it. Outside on my deck!On the positive side, the smell has reduced maybe 75%. I have to be within 5ish feet to smell it now. However, wearing it would still put me in a cloud of industrial chemicals that would quickly fill a room. I'm guessing another month may age out most of the smell but I don't know if that will be enough to make it usable. Maybe 2 more months...The smell is leathery but should not be confused with a 14 yo boy's first cologne. First, nobody, not even a teenager, would mistake the belt smell for too much cologne. It does NOT smell like teen spirit. Second, a teenager who dips himself into a cologne vat would lose his aroma in a couple of days. This belt has real staying power.Obviously, there was some incompetence at the leather tanning stage and again at the belt making stage and again at the packaging stage. They all failed quality assurance. That many incompetencies point directly at production management. In addition, marketing management has been aware of previous reviews that mentioned the smell and didn't care. This stuff is still for sale.My advice to you is to put Vitan on your "do not buy from them" list and watch for them to resurface in Amazon under a new name.Unusable product. Unscrupulous company.

Like other reviews, Ibthink the smell of the tanning is a bit strong but my main problem with this belt is it stretches more than expected. I find myself having to tighten tithe belt from time to time as my jeans feel loose. Other, it seems to be a quality belt.
