What do you need to print on these discs?

I use a Canon Pixma iP7220 printer, which sell for under a hundred dollars at Staples and many other big box stores. So far, I have made printed about 300 cd's with this printer, and I only had to replace the ink cartridges once...(buy generic ink replacements rather than the Canon replacements) I usually find the ink replacements on Amazon for under $20.00 for the XL size, which contain even more ink. I have used these Verbatim white cd's before, and they work flawlessly. Always make sure when you purchase printable cd's that you get the P/N # 95252...which is the smaller hole cd. If you buy any other number, the hole in the center will be larger in diameter, and the ink will smear on the plastic part of the hole. With the 95252, there is no smearing because the hole is smaller, and your printer will print to the very edge of the hole, resulting in a cleaner print out. I hope this info helps in your decision.

What color are the disks on the recording side?

The underside is the usual greenish toned silver. The tops are of course just white.

What does 1x - 52x mean.? I have some CD-R from another maked marked12x.

This is what I've been led to believe by the techie stuff I've read. The designation 1x - 52x tells you that the CD-R is compatible with any CD player or recorder that reads or records up to 52x speed. In other words if you have an old clunker that only records at 1x speed (I can't imagine one of those still being around) it will work with that recorder. Your 12x CD-R should work in your faster CD ROM but they will record at a slower speed than a 52x. Sometimes you may wish to record at a slower speed if you are having trouble getting a good recording at the higher speed. Your 1x - 52x CD-R allows you to do that by changing the setting of your recording software to a slower recording speed. Hope this helps. Maybe someone with more precise understanding of this can chime in too.

Good Quality

So far these have burned with no issues. The label area prints well and does not smear as it seems to absorb the inkjet printer ink very well.

QUALITY AND FLEXIBILITY

These CD-r's are very flexible on what kind of ink can be used on their labels. Everything from pad stampers, to pens and paint. I've duplicated hundreds of these and never had a failure.

Works for PS1 and Dreamcast backups, not 52x speed.

I use these discs to play backups of my PS1 and Dreamcast games. That way I can play my collection without fear of damaging my original discs.These Verbatim discs are the standard line, not the DataLifePlus, but they still burn reliably in ImgBurn. I've only had one bad disc out of the couple dozen I've burnt.These discs are NOT 1-52x speed however, in ImgBurn the write speeds are listed as 16-40x. I'm taking off a star because this is not reflected in the description or the physical label on the cake box.Interestingly these discs are identified as being manufactured by CMC Magnetic in ImgBurn, the same as JVC and Taiyo Yuden.For the money these are very solid discs, $20 for a pack of 100 is a great deal.
