![Risky Business (The Criterion Collection) [4K UHD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Dcm7vR5ML.jpg)

A sly piece of pop subversion, this irresistible satire of Reagan-era materialism features Tom Cruise in his star-is-born breakthrough as a Chicago suburban prepster whose college-bound life spirals out of control when his parents go out of town for the week and an enterprising call girl (Rebecca De Mornay) invites him to walk on the wild side. While Cruise boogying in his briefs yielded one of the most iconic pop-cultural moments of the 1980s, it is the film’s unexpected mix of tender romance (enhanced by a moody synth score by Tangerine Dream) and sharp-witted capitalist critique that remains fresh and daring. DIRECTOR-APPROVED 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES Review: “There’s a time for playing it safe, and a time for…” - I won’t finish the rest of that part, but that is only one of many memorable lines from a movie that more helped propel Tom Cruise into the movie star audiences know him as today! The movie has got everything here, from comedic moments to heartfelt ones, and definitely some risky ones that befit the title of the film. (And let’s be honest, who hasn’t tried that dance at least once in their life?) Not just a quintessential 80s movie, but another entry in the list of classic films! Review: My favorite in 4k - What’s there to not like. It’s a great movie and now looks like it did in the theaters!

Risky Business on Criterion- Super!
What's not to love? Cruise and DeMornay. I'm sure most everyone knows the story by now. I just want to let you know about the transfer. Criterion does such a great job with it, and of course, the extras that they include. You cannot go wrong with this copy that Criterion has put out. If you are on the fence and worried about double or triple dipping, just get it. I have the DVD and BD as well.

Phenomenal reproduction of an OK mainstream film.
Five stars for Criterion’s gorgeous 4K transfer, but only three stars for the movie itself – which I saw at a theater when it first came out, (fittingly, just days before leaving home for college for the first time!) This film is significantly more shallow and tawdry than I remembered it, (at the time, like many other people, I mistook it as being genuine “stylish“.) I think most people consider it important because it’s the debut of Tom Cruise, but really, it’s better for the inclusion of Joe Pantoliano and Rebecca De Mornay, (who are both stunning in their respective ways)! Still, if you are a fan of this movie, this version of it is absolutely must-own! PS: Yes, Tom Cruise’s performance to the Bob Seger song deserves its legendary status because it’s extremely well done – but keeping in mind that I’m far more captivated by Rebecca De Mornay’s form and body language, (and the fact that I absolutely Detest Bob Seger’s music) make that less of a selling point to me. But for those of you who intend to watch it in slow mo, freeze-frame, and/or zoom, this high-def 4K version is irreplaceable.

Classic from my youth.
Great release. Can't figure out how to play narration. No audio button on remote disc ask for. UPDATE: Audio button on my Sony bluray remotes. Able hear comments.

The best Tom Cruise ever.
Before he became famous Tom Cruise acted in this funny movie. Beautiful soundtrack by Tangerine Dream too.

Iconic Movie gets an Excellent Transfer, Audio, & Special Features- FAN APPROVED!
Finally, Risky Business gets the treatment it deserves. Awesome transfer and mastered audio with an array of cool special features. I hope Criterion releases more iconic titles from the 80s like they did with The Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and After Hours. The packaging is great and the included poster is welcome addition. I also appreciate that Criterion included the director’s cut and the original theatrical release all supervised and approved by director Paul Brickman and producer Jon Avnet. I wish there was an isolated score- because the music by Tangerine Dream makes this movie! Great Work Criterion Collection- Fan Approved!

Awesome set
Great film with plenty of supplements to enhance your viewing pleasure. This movie made stars of Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay. He was never more winning, and she was never hotter. An excellent 80s flashback whenever you're in the mood!
