Works really well. Used for the first time today on a few different jobs and I was surprised at just how effective it was.Photos show:1. Repaired the clip that holds down a lid on a tool box. Instantly repaired this with a single pin. Previously tried superglue and epoxy without any joy.2. Extension-lead housing repair of huge crack that went round a sharp bend. After cutting all the pins off, I used another hot pin to spread the plastic as best I could. Finished with a metal file to remove wire stumps and smooth the rough plastic3. Created a scaffold for a leg on a glue gun stand. Had no idea this would work but there it is. Worked perfectly and as I had imagined it would.4. The less said about the wire cutters the better. Just pretend that it doesn't come with any! You must own or buy something to cut the wires with (e.g. side cutters), as well as file back the stumps.This welder is incredibly easy to use. I didn't know what I was doing but I had seen a reel ages ago showing something like this being used. The only thing I had remembered was to rotate the pin a degree or two before the plastic re-hardens. You don't always have to do this but if you can then it helps with flat welds. The corner pieces are very useful, I was able to use two outer corner pins to create a new leg for my glue gun stand. I bulked it out with thick wire and duct tape, but the pin provided a good scaffold melted into the existing plastic. I'm sure I'll find other novel ways to use it.The gun heats up surprisingly quickly, I really wasn't expecting to be able to insert the pins within a few seconds. It is that fast, so be careful and don't press down hard, just let the pin sink in carefully.The wire cutters included are not really usable. I tried to cut the first pin but they didn't work so I used my own pair. If you buy this tool, you must also own or buy a pair of wire cutters because the ones in the box will not help you! For me this was not important because I already owned a pair.You must also own a metal file because there will be wire stumps left after cutting. You can also tidy up the rough plastic surface too. I was prepared for this and so didn't find it too much of an inconvenience.The end result was fantastic and what you gain for a little bit of effort is actually amazing. There really isn't any other way to repair many broken plastic items. You can see in my tool box repair, the previous attempts at supergluing which failed abysmally. This welder repaired it almost instantly, I was kind of shocked how well it worked on the softer plastic.The welder came fully charged I believe, and I didn't use it for a few weeks, but it worked straight out of the box. It's very light weight and has one control; the trigger. If I had one genuine con against this welder it would be the lack of a on/off switch and/or safety switch. Just be careful not to accidentally pull the trigger or leave anything pushed against it in the case. But in terms of doing what it was made for I cannot fault it so far.

I have thought about buying one of these for years but never did because I doubted how well the repairs would be and I absolutely hate corded tools. When I came across this cordless one I thought I would give it a try but probably abandon it or return it later. Boy was I wrong!! First of all it comes in a handy labelled plastic carry case which is a major plus for my shed organisation, it is priced reasonably, it charges pretty quickly thanks to the usb c charging, it is very light weight, it comes with accessories including loads of the metal bits and cutters, it heats up the metal bits very quickly which makes the repairs easy as not much pressure is required and most importantly once the melted plastic cools down, it feels like a very strong repair possibly even stronger than before. I used it on my son’s bike seat but CAN NOT wait to use it on many other things e.g. my neighbours wheelie bin that got damaged in the recent strong winds.I would 100% recommend this as I regret that I did not buy one earlier. I just hope it lasts the test of time but I currently do not have a reason not to think that it will not.

Bought this to do some plastic welding on some motorcycle plastics, being cordless is very handy and very helpful, good selection of accessories and handy plastic carry case. Only down side is when you have to pack it back up the staples are hard to fit back in but apart from that seems to be good build quality Nd value for money. Very functionality and easy to use.

Good tool works well loads of staples and in different shapes

Had been considering one of these for a while. Before I’d been repairing cracked plastic items with glue or resorting to a soldering iron. Got this and found it’s quick and easy to use and results in a stronger repair. If need be you can always put glue or similar on top to get a smooth looking finish after using the wire staples if cosmetically it requires it. Recommended.

Good quality works well on thinner plastic, nothing too heavy duty like tractor arches
