Besides being made in the USA, the most important thing about dog food is, "Will my dog eat it?" It could be the purest, most healthy food ever, but if your dog won't eat it, it does no good at all. I am happy to report that my picky girl loves this food! Yes, it smells like dog food, but, um, that's what it is. And just to address concerns about corn being the first ingredient: this food is a high-fiber food. Fiber is not found in meat products, so in order to be high in fiber, it does need vegetables or grain to provide the fiber that is needed to be a gastroenteric fiber balance food. My dog is half German Shepherd. Shepherds are known for tending towards digestive issues. She was prescribed a gastrointestinal formula from another brand of dog food and that was when I found that a high fiber diet actually made her diarrhea BETTER! It seems counterintuitive, but it works. She also tends to have anal gland issues that need to be professionally addressed, and a high fiber diet helps clear her glands, so that's an added benefit. The bag is huge, so it should last quite a while. The recommended feeding seems high. My dog is 65 lbs., and she gets two cups a day and is fine with that and maintains her weight. The kibbles are small, so all breeds should be able to eat them. I took a picture of them next to a penny for size. reference. My dog likes the taste. The food is effective in keeping her digestion healthy. The price is in line with other dog foods. This seems like a keeper!

Dogs really love this. easily chewable for them. Even for my 3lb dog. Seems to be to expensive for what you get though.

Our 6 year old German Shepherd Jedi, has been having a tough time lately with a lot of stomach issues and strange noises. After a particularly rough night, we talked to our vet, and they recommended we gradually switch him from his old mid-range food to trying this Pro Plan Veterinary Diets Purina Gastroenteric Fiber Balance formula. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. Jedi is a super picky eater who isn't consistent at all. Sometimes he'll eat right away, but other times his food will just sit in his bowl all day. But with this food, it's a completely different story! He took to it immediately and now he gobbles it down in its entirety as soon as I put it out for him. It's a huge win! While I was mixing the two foods, I even saw him picking out the new Purina pieces first. It's been a few weeks now, and his digestion is much more regular. He seems so much happier during mealtimes, and honestly, the relief of not hearing all those stomach noises is fantastic for the entire family and knowing he is comfortable and can tell that in his playful demeanor. This blended diet has truly been a beneficial change for my German Shepherd. I highly recommend it if you have a dog with a sensitive stomach! 🐾

ALL of our dogs absolutely love this Purina pro plan formula! They like all of them but so far this is the one they plow over us to get to at feeding times. We like to let our dogs explore and roam on walks and out on the acreage so we never know what they are getting into. It's really comforting to give them this food, knowing that it is so healthy for their gut and their system overall. Dogs will be dogs and this helps allow them to do that! The kibble is a good medium size, not too big. Definitely not for teeny tiny breeds though. If you get the 25 pound bag, be sure to have another container to hold it all or a really good clip to roll it down and seal as it doesn't have any kind of a resealing closure. The dogs give a 10/10 for taste and smell. We give a 10/10 for the quality goodness and how effective it is at keeping our pups healthy.
