Very pleased with this, I wanted a decent mortar and pestle but I was on a budget. This works great, in fact it's better than my old expensive one (broken, this was its replacement). You definitely do need to season it, there are loads of YouTube videos showing how to do it - I prefer the rice and salt paste method. It's time consuming but absolutely worth it, it's really important to season it properly before the first use. This was nice and easy to clean, and dried out nice and quick without any weird staining.
