The newly re-imagined Martin OM-42 is a beautifully ornate acoustic guitar, built with a 000-14 fret body size for a comfortable playing experience whether sitting or standing. The OM-42 has a Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides, an ebony fretboard with Style 45 snowflake inlays, antique white binding, and an abalone top inlay that also outlines the fretboard as it joins the body – one of the classiest features on high end Martin guitars. Newer features also include an aging toner, new forward shifted scalloped X braces, and open gear tuners.

I am now the proud owner of this beautiful Martin OM-42 guitar. The tone is amazing. The guitar rings like a bell and the sustain just goes on and on. I will cherish it as the masterpiece of my collection.

It just rocks
Disclaimer: I don’t know how to play guitar. But just by holding this at the beach I was instantly swarmed by sweet bikini babes, over-tanned cougars, and even a former WWII pinup hottie. Finally a record exec noticed the commotion, saw the guitar, and offered me a recording deal on the spot. Not to be outdone, a Hollywood talent scout pushed his way through the crowd, shoved a wad of bills into my pants, and held out a movie contract for me to sign (a reboot of Blue Hawaii). I am not exaggerating when I say this guitar has changed my life. Expensive? Hell yes. But you can’t put a price on fame.

Pretty Near a Perfect Instrument
Plays superbly, beautiful appointments, and sounds like magic in the right hands (not mine lol). I play a Martin OM-28 which is another really great guitar but when I play a friend’s OM-42 it sounds even better and plays just a tad more buttery! Price is high but if you can afford one you’ll never second guess the investment.
