What is the weight of the table and what is the weight of each chair?

Well they are very light. I'd say about 10 pounds for the chair and 15 for the table. They may be light but they are bolted down pretty good.

Yes. The top is padded. There's a spongy cushion under a synthetic black covering. It's not the best surface for writing, so if I'm going to use a ballpoint pen, I like to write on top of a clipboard or on top of a hardcover book. I'm not sure what the covering is made of, but it was REALLY stinky when I first took it out of the box. I had to wash it a few times to get rid of that odor. Also, if you look at a few of the comments, you'll see that the cover tends to arrive with rips on the corners. However, the table is pretty sturdy and easy to set up.
