Its a costume shirt. As long as you only expect it to be a costume shirt you will be fine. The fabric is quite nice. I dont know about the durability but it feels great. Thats half the battle. Its appropriately long and appropriately loose. I ordered my "normal" size and it was fine. The leather laces are kinda a pain in the butt because you need to remove them before you wash but its worth it. With even minimal care this could be a multi year costume 1-3 times a year or a single season of a Ren Fair. Definitely worth what I paid for it.

VIKINGS!!! The only reason I give 4 stars is the thin leather lace; but I get what I paid for. The shirt is 100% cotton and a little stiff; with the proper steps to stretch the cotton will loosen up the cotton to make it flexible. I this day and age we are use to polyester and flexibility. Back then all they had was wool, cotton, or other natural fibers. They managed just fine. I am surprised for the price I paid about the quality of work put into the shirt. Aside from the lace they took their time on the quality of work. Strong stitching and simple design for the shirt. I ordered a large and fit like a large; but due to being 100% cotton I have to keep in mind shrinkage over time. I usually wear large in shirts and may go a step up in size depending on how much the shirt shrinks over time. A lot of comments say the shirt runs small; the only way I see this is due to the shrinkage I mentioned. The shirt comes laced with wood beads. Later I plan to replace the beads with runic beads of either brown, silver, or black design. As for care; there are a few ways to stretch the cotton to make it flexible. Use a steamer and once you can feel the cotton start to give stretch the shirt. Find a way to keep it stretched out as it dries; this will aid in giving the shirt its flexibility. When the shirt gets dirty wash in cold water this will prevent shrinkage. Also recommend using natural soap to prevent damage to the shirt. Otherwise it should be fine if you ran it through the Gauntlet like many others do. Just use cold water of your shirt will shrink. Also air dry only; the dryer will aid in the shrinkage. The shirt isn't really soft but natural fibers normally are not soft. Though the shirt is breathable, (at least to me) comfortable, and will keep you warm. I hope this review helps you. If you are going to a Renaissance Fair in Texas, it gets HOT! This shirt is nice and thin and breaths great. Fits true to size and does not shrink when washed. Does wrinkle when washed, but nothing that would make you hate it. Material is soft and looks great with pants, kilts and even regular shorts!

My husband has worn this shirt (and the white one like it) multiple times. He loves it. It fits well and I am pleased with the quality of the fabric.

Great top for Renn faire. I normally wear Xl, this fits more like 2x but that is really what you would want for a Renn fair Outfit. Would have been happier with large in terms of fit. Good quality and look.

Small sizing and an itchy fabric. Fit well enough to the event but not a keeper of a shirt. Need to size up and use tons of fabric softener.
