Bokken: Japanese Wooden Sword- Model #3 (White) !!

This is really nice, very light. My sensei says the wood-grain is very short and compact, which means the wood wasn't grown hastily and the bokken will endure regular practice.My only complaint is that the bokken arrived un-oiled and unvarnished so now I have to wait for a week while my sensei puts a couple of coats of tung oil on it. Otherwise, 5 stars.

Defective. Tip cracked. Shrink wrap was peeled open. Looks like a returned item that's been reshipped!

Well crafted and sturdy. Finish needs a bit more work

Bought this for a friend who was a former kendo student when in Japan. They were thrilled by the quality of this product for its price. It is stained white in the proper style and offers a good view of the woodgrain and not like some bokkutou you can find in the US which are painted white in a poor quality paint after manufacturing. The finish is functional and offers a good grip while being comfortable.

The item is of great quality, really sturdy and smooth when handling. It feels like it can take a little bit of hard sparring, if that's what you intended to do. They describe the wood type and manufacturing process in its web page. You can see the attention of detail and craftsmanship they have put into it. Highly recommded for people looking for a cost effective beginner's bokken.

It's a fine product. I bought this for my aikido class's ken practicing. This bokken satisfies the need for the basic training. I would recommend it to anyone who just started some kind of martial art and needed to use ken. However, if you are already experienced martial art people and you need some really nice quality ken to go hard on it. This might not be the most appropriate one for you. When I tried ken practice with other students (using ken to hit the other ken hard), it sounds like the wood's quality is not that good.Overall, considering its price, it is a fine option for any martial art beginners who are looking for wood ken.

been swinging with it for few months, isn't broken just yet, but the handle is turning black from all the sweat in my hand when I practice
