Bach’s organ works book 1. Start here
If your new to JS Bach’s organ works then this is the place to start. There are 8 prelude and fugues BWV 553-560. BWV 553 in C major is a favourite as is the prelude and fugue in G minor (558). They are easy (for a Bach work) but do require some practice to get they sounding good, and worth the time and money.

The first page was slightly blurry but the rest was fine. The edition is good with editors suggestions for ornaments and manual use. Not as 'pure' as the Urtext edition but a very good for organists to learn from.

Excellent starting point for pianists learning the organ
I have played piano since I was 8, but only recently started looking into playing the organ. An older friend who has taught me a couple of times recommended this- these short pieces are reasonably comfortable to play, and the pedal parts are (mostly) simple enough. Would make good music for weddings.

Good old edition
This well known edition of these easy Bach pieces came spiral bound which is great for use on the organ music stand.

Excellent starter book for church organ
My son has been learning church organ for about 6 months when we bought this book. It contains 8 short preludes and fugues which he has found relatively easy to learn and play. Best of all, being Bach, they sound excellent. He has played them all as voluntary's at the end of the church services which has given him the confidence to go onto book 2.
